Limdood
I think eating 40 baked potatoes in one day might affect my long term health... So first game in B231. Food is a MAJOR MAJOR issue now...water too. I used to focus on setting up a base in a POI just outside of a trader, but I had trouble in my RWG finding a trader in temperate area, and temperature is brutal right now. So this build i harvested a few fields i found, grabbed living off the land, and went searching for a lake (also in short supply in my RWG) to set up a base and farm. I started planting right away (planted 10 potatoes, kept 41 for eating, went thru them in 1 day...cooked!) to supplement my food, and started filling and cooking water right away. Even with all the food (and i'm focusing food like I never needed to before), its still a major issue...I'll say, honestly, it feels too much. Two reasons: 1) the amount of food one needs to eat without slow metabolism is crazy...my character will look like a tourist or cop zombie in no time. 2) it's a crazy amount of upkeep...riding 1.2 km on a bike and having to stop twice because my hunger drops below 90%...twice...in the one bike ride...is pretty crazy, and its an unenjoyable minigame. I very much enjoy the fact that food is an issue now, but maybe hunger could avoid affecting stamina until under 50%....thirst too? make the effect twice as strong and only in the bottom half of the hunger/thirst amount (so 49% hunger is 98% stamina bar...28% hunger is 56% stamina bar). If that happens, the now-somewhat-dangerous food/water issues in the game will feel meaningful and dangerous, rather than dangerous and a chore. Greymantle
The stamina drain now on your cap is crazy they more than doubled it from the last version. You can change this under: entityclasses.xml <entity_class name="playerMale"> <passive_effect name="StaminaLossMaxMult" operation="base_set" value="0.0080"/> <!-- regening stamina costs food, blacks out the stamina bar --> The default is 0.011 and I changed it to what you see above. The last version was 0.0054 if I recall.
InSanity
Agreed, I know the food and survival aspect hasn't always been the strong point of this game, which I have been fine with honestly, but I'm still happy to see that they're trying to add some more survival elements to the game but I think this definitely needs balancing because if I spawn in and by noon my max stamina is at 50% or less just from getting basic supplies and starting to run to the trade then they seriously to adjust that. I'm all for making hunger something you actually need to consider rather than going out and hunting for a day and then being set forever, but I think they either need to do something similar to what you said or make stamina not a 1:1 with hunger because that is just unrealistic if it's going to drain as fast as it is currently. Limdood
I should clarify right away. I'm not complaining ABOUT the hunger/thirst drain. I'm sort of complaining about the absurdity of a the amount of food i need to eat...at least a little bit. MOSTLY I'm complaining about the constant upkeep and chore of keeping hunger/thirst topped off for stamina...there needs to be a sizeable buffer....at LEAST 30%, but 50% is probably better, before loss of hydration/food levels affect stamina - even more so with the higher stamina drain in B231. Its just feedback in regards to the changes...these are my experiences and my thoughts, submitted here for TFP to interpret and account for as they will. sadpickle
The stamina drain now on your cap is crazy they more than doubled it from the last version. All I have to say to this is What the ♥♥♥♥? It was already outrageously high. I couldn't imagine dealing with that as a new player.
willcheat
Seems you can overeat to a degree. In buffs.xml, there's this tidbit : <!-- how much you can overeat --> <triggered_effect trigger="onSelfBuffUpdate" action="ModifyCVar" cvar="foodAmount" operation="set" value="25"> <requirement name="CVarCompare" cvar="foodAmount" operation="GT" value="25"/> <requirement name="StatComparePercModMaxToMax" stat="stamina" operation="GTE" value=".99"/> </triggered_effect> Guess that means you can eat up to 125% hunger, though I'd rather they cap it at 100, but have the stamina drop begin at 60 - 70% hunger
