Kevin1000
Hi all, I just wanted to know if I made a new block in xml blocks file and have it 0 weight, would it allow me to have floating block in the game ?
Khelldon
I'm guessing probably not, but you could try and see if you can get it working ;-)
FastBurst
That's a negative Ghost Rider, the pattern is full... I honestly don't know if it would work but worth a shot. The game uses physics to an extent so not sure it would actually work.
GG2015
I think Weight is an attribute that lets the game know whether its scrappable or not. Maybe you would have more luck with StabilitySupport?
Guppycur
That's not what weight is, so no.
GG2015
That's not what weight is, so no. Alright, I know it has an effect on scrap time. Higher the weight is the more time it takes to scrap the item.
Kevin1000
it did not work
xyth
If you want a block to appear to float then make a new block by copying the air block but give the copy stability support but no collisons. Put that block under the block you want to look like it is floating.
Royal Deluxe
In a 16 you could do someting different but maybe it allow what you want https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?76753-Royals-Vanilla-Mod&p=756797&viewfull=1#post756797 (it simply abuse the multidim values) But this means you use all blocks inside that multidim, means under such a block is allways a free pillar of air until the block it stand above
stasis78
Weight has to do with the structural integrity system. Old wiki but still fairly accurate. Unless gazz wants to correct me. https://7daystodie.gamepedia.com/Structural_Integrity
Gazz
Mass has do do with it. Weight does not.
stasis78
I confused weight with mass as I was thinking of materials.xml not blocks. I see weight in blocks on only a few items, but there is no explanation of its purpose. Only something that doesn't seem related. Forge weight: We have auto-scaling based on resources IF there is a recipe for the block. Gazz -->
