[MODLET] Mining Machine & Rain Catcher

PLEASE USE THIS THREAD

 

Here is a Little modlet that allows you to auto mine ores and dirt etc and auto catch water.

 

It also allows you to make the wine barrels in the workshop which are required to make the rain barrels.

 

Also you destroy the mining truck and Auto rain catcher to return them to their original. So Destroy the Mining Truck it returns to the Excavator state to continue mining and the Auto rain catcher returns to the Rain Barrels.

 

you can adjust how long it takes to mine or catch rain water on this line both the excavator and the rainbarrels have this adjustment available (currently it is set to 15 days) -

I've had some time to test this mod now and there is a slight issue with it currently (at least it seems like an unintended issue.)

 

Take the excavator.

I place it down and after a while it turns to a mining truck and I can loot it. All good there.

I then destroy the mining truck to leave an excavator in it's place to restart the cycle, and this does work, but it also returns a mining truck to my inventory. If I place this mining truck down and destroy it I now have a second excavator for nothing at all. I can continue this cycle and have an unlimited number of excavators all for the cost of the first one.

The same holds true of the rainbarel and auto water collector.

 

I'm also unsure of the purpose behind the excavator and mining truck, as the terrain blocks it gives me are largely unusable (unless I also place those down one by one and destroy them too.) There are two or three types that it gives that can be scrapped for resources, but the majority of them have to be placed as blocks one by one and then destroyed. This might be intended, but I'm unsure from the mod description. It feels like each one is supposed to be scrappable for resources but they aren't.

Well the first part time isnt suppose to occur lol. Only way i can think of to fix it is to remove the downgrade path so you can just destroy it and build another. Will look at the code to see whati can do to rectify this.

 

The resources you get from the mining machine are higher stuff like diamond and gold etc is very rare but not impossible. So you will get other lower prob stuff first. However you are correct they are suppose to be able to be utilised as resources not placed down to destroy (unless you want to look at it as the machine didn't separate properly and you had to finish the job) will look at this also.
