Purpendicular
I figured I'd bring attention to this here. I see several bug reports on this issue in the bug reporting thread; but it doesn't seem to be getting fixed just yet, and more importantly, it isn't on the list of "Known Issues" in the experimental patch notes. PoppaTot
What's a mac? I only kid, I hope that is not a wide spread issue for the OS though.
Jedo
Same has been happening to my friend. I shrugged it off because his computer is a little old.
Purpendicular
Same has been happening to my friend. I shrugged it off because his computer is a little old. I have a very new 2018 macbook, and it does it. I saw reports for people with 2016 macbooks too when I looked through the bug reports. That tells me there's something consistently wrong with the MacOS version.
one_each
Same has been happening to my friend. I shrugged it off because his computer is a little old. Same here. I am running a 2009 Mac Pro (Mojave/8 core/32G/Sapphire 7870) and see crashes at random times. Usually, the game gets very laggy (single player) or the mouse starts jumping at the slightest movement but not always. I've even seen crashes where I am hunkered down for the night and (in the real world) run off to get a snack then return to a crashed game. Purpendicular
My game runs extremely smoothly. In fact, it runs much more smoothly than most of my friends. When it crashes, it isn't laggy at all. It just crashes, and it's pretty consistent on timing; about every 20 minutes. That tells me that the problem is likely some cache is getting filled up. I get around it by quitting and restarting before I do some serious inventory transferring (I've crashed while putting things into a container, and the result was me losing items permanently), as well as quitting and restarting before starting a quest (If you crash in the middle of a quest, you have to restart your quest.) It's workable, but very annoying.
DennisGuijt
Same here on Mac. Crashes every 20 to 30 min. Just like that. Game looks a lot better than alpha 16. But crashes a lot in alpha 17. Hoping for update for this so we can play it like alpha
Scyris
General tip: mac's suck for gaming in general they always have massive problems. Better to get a windows 10 pc insted it'll be more stable.
Purpendicular
General tip: mac's suck for gaming in general they always have massive problems. Better to get a windows 10 pc insted it'll be more stable. "Buy a different machine when you own a machine the game claims to be compatible for" isn't really a productive comment. If TFP doesn't want to make the game compatible for Mac, they really don't have to. They can make it windows only. But they haven't, they advertise the game works on the MacOS operating system (and a16 ran just fine). Besides that, my mac is awesome for gaming and rarely experiences problems. By contrast, my friends with Windows 10 PCs whom I'm playing with run with different problems. One person's game crashed and they couldn't close it through the task manager; they had to outright reboot their PC. I think you have some bias there, mate. Galaktus
Purpendicular: I am having the same issues on a iMac Retina 5K, 27inch late 2017 with 40gb of RAM. A16.4 I could play on MAX settings no problem. A17e it crashes just like yours about every 15 minutes or so.

Galaktus
Okay Guys and Gals. I finally had the game last longer and didn't crash on me. I haven't repeated it yet but I changed my resolution down to 1600x900 and played for almost 2 hours without a crash. I hope this temp fix can work for some of you all too. emponeway
Okay Guys and Gals. I finally had the game last longer and didn't crash on me. I think you are on to something. I have the latest iMac 27" 8GB Vcard 5k and an i7. The game looks absolutely amazing on the highest settings but runs at about 20fps. when I turned it down a bit i was at a solid 60fps. The game stopped crashing as well. might be a temp fix but it does work.
Mr. Avocado Man
Same thing here, brand new MacBook Pro 2017 model, 15" God awfully annoying, I really hope it gets fixed because I don't want to give up on this game. I timed it too, crashes every 20 minutes.
Vampirenostra
Same with me, MacBook Pro 2017 -> each 20 mins I'm out. Seems it has something to do with Macs only.
DEADFACE
a workaround for this has been found here I find it interesting that people report some success with changing the resolution. Does that just delay the crash I wonder?
