Tenpenny Tower (Fallout3)

I found myself reminiscing today on thoughts of Fallout 3. More specifically that of Tenpenny Tower shortly after leaving the vault. I got to thinking this might be a cool addition to the world so I got to work. Here are some initial shots of the exterior taking shape. By the way has anyone found the item "Concrete Pillar (item# 603)" in Hal's prefab editor yet? I've seen this with other items as well. It seems the game database doesn't always match up with the ingame object labels.

( this is taken from Models_2 ) notice the misspelling in the half tube.

Thanks Wsiegel. I was able to find it in the editor as tubeConcreteNoDistort while the ingame translation is ConcretePillar. It's the full size pillar. Interior is coming together. I've furnished two floors but I want anything but a cookie cutter layout. I've invited Hiyoto to add some flavor to the design and decorating process in-game. If anyone else is interested in adding their touches to this project please PM me. I'll be opening up the server this evening. Thank you for the support! That Helped stoke the fire a bit more. Hiyoto is has joined on and is contributing with his design prowess. Our goal is to make most areas unique so last night we spent some time adding some small touches by hand. It's going to take a while to finish off the remaining 6 floors (23 rooms). This is one of the rooms Hiyoto was working on. We feel It's spot on and I can't wait to see clusters of the structure in a more disorderly state just like this one. We're still making progress on this project. One speed bump we've ran into is a block physics issue on one particular area. One balcony seems to want to collapse regardless of the steps we take to resolve the issue. If anyone has dealt with issues like this and might have some insight I would greatly appreaciate any help. I can share more details is needed.

I can share more details is needed.[/QUOTE] I don't know what your exact problem is, but if the blocks are falling, regardless of the structural integrity and the type of blocks surrounding the falling blocks, you can put two block on top of each other. So when you walk on the upper block, it wouldn't fall anymore (Sometimes after putting down the floor on high levels, when you walk on the floor it will collapse, but if you use 2 blocks it wouldn't). But if you still fly through the below block it will collapse again. In your case I think you have problems extending the blocks horizontally. You can use some wood frames (or torches or whatever) and put them below the balcony and use the above trick, then remove all the wood frames and you'll have your balcony! But remember not to fly into the lower blocks. Hope it was helpful :)

I did reinforce the overhang but I have this looming feeling that this structural problem is causing other issues. There are two reasons. Reason one being I'm working 7 days a week right now to prepare for a compliance audit. Reason two being this behemoth really starts lagging when It's loaded. I'm trying to determine what is causing this but I fear the project has out grown the games limitations. I was hoping to fix this before releasing it. Really though there are only three floors left to be completed.

Thank you for the support. It's coming along nicely. Slow but steady. Here are some images of one of the top floor penthouse suites. Still not sure what to do with the top (empty) floor.
