Varsil
Has there ever been an answer as to why there's no pause button in single player? It makes the game seriously hard to play for me. I love the game but am almost always on call--which means sudden interruptions. Having to quit out and re-resume later is irksome at best.
Starkeyravingmad
agreed. pressing ESC in single player should pause the game. would keep me out of trouble with the missus :P
Hinado
Well I personally don't need it but I see no reason why it shouldn't be implemented for singleplayer. So if it would make people happy I'm all for it. But since this is a very minor and pretty common thing I wouldn't be surprised if they already plan to do that but have given it only minor priority. Just Quit and get back into it when you can. Either that or find a good place to hide.
bort
/Signed. I'd like to see a pause button too, for those times when you need to pop away from your computer for a few minutes. Especially for those times when you need to unexpectedly pop away from your computer, to answer the door or whatever. I don't want to have to quit out of the game every time. Mikeforall
Pause hasn't been inplanted partly because of the realism effect. After all, when you are attacked you can just pause and look for the best way to get out of that horde, and unpause when you found it. When I need to go do something, I just go out of the game and get back in when I have time. However, I can understand that some people would prefer a pausebutton, since it spares a little bit of time compared to going in and out your savegame.
The thing of graying out is just a feature that sometimes is implented for pause. Althrough the freeze is true, you can just look for a way out in your sight of view. When you don't see anything, unpause, turn around, pause and repeat.
erongoth
+1 Totally agree with this! With twin boys poping up and down from the pc is common. This feature would be greatly appreciated!!!!
akapero
As a newcomer to the game this is probably the single biggest gripe I have. I love the concept and the gameplay, but the lack of pause is a serous drawback. I have kids who often pop into my office and I need the ability to immediately pause the game, not hit escape, then quit, then wait for the game to exit as a rabid zomb-dog is gnawing on my face. Why this isn't included already is beyond my understanding.
Okraiderfan
My biggest gripe is no auto-walk /auto-run lol lack of a pause not a big deal
Nidalas
+1 for the pause, why not
My biggest gripe is no auto-walk /auto-run lol lack of a pause not a big deal
Same here, always missed it. This and the lack of a combo hotkeys to automatically fill a container (shift + click on an item in our inventory to place it in a container for exemple)
Pwnlord
Those of you who whine about pause ruining your perfect survival simulator-you could always have it enabled/disabled in an option menu. Or, y'know, not use it. Unless the clarion call of-gasp! CHEATING! is too much for you to endure. What with all the other options we currently have to make the game easier that you're not using. "B-but muh difficulty!!" is not and has never been a valid argument in reference to non-gameplay elements. End of story.
Mikeforall
if everything people ask for would become an option, we'd need an option to enable/disable the by then huge optionmenu....

Especially something valuable, like if you stand to lose 32 or even 64 Iron Ingots.
