Got a quick question here, please and thank you...

So, long story short....I play 7D2D on PC, my son on console. After establishing a few metrics to determine "success", and eventually a winner by a preset date....my Son and I have hit a slight disagreement.

I on PC can hide underground, via the single wood frame method.....he claims he cannot do this on console. Is he correct? Do consoles have "digging zombies" that attack the "half block of the frame that sticks out" (his words), or is he just not buliding the entrance properly? I mean, it's a single row dug straight down....not hard to mess up?

Bottom line, please and thank you, can he not hide underground with impunity on the Xbox version like I can on the PC version?

From what I remember, though I'd need to check (sorry not in the office), zombies attack in an area all around, including up, but not down. When they are injured and become crawlers they are still attack in the same range but are now flat, they can attack above, infront and below but not backwards (which used to be down).... I hope I'm making sense...

Is it possible the ones that found your son were newly injured (rather than generated) crawlers? From my recollection this can happen in PC too unless it has been changed.

Any zombie that hits a hill at the right angle may start to dig too rather than walk over it, if the fame is not flush with the ground the zombie may be blocked by it when trying to find him or simply walking by and damage it.

I imagine that the z's are not digging down but coming down whatever pathway he has dug out. It takes an incredible amount of time for z's to dig even 2 full blocks down unless you have modded options set to quarter block health. If he has a straight-down tunnel system they will fall to the bottom and if it is not far enough they will become crawlers and perhaps dig through walls that may be obstructing his view of where they landed down there. Console AI is very simplistic when it comes to the route they take, they will always choose the path of least distance even if it is the path of most resistance. Recommend to your son that while down there to dig outwards as well and place frames down to block the way he came in. If he still has issues, recommend to him to build a wood hatch over the very top and continue to dig outward once getting a fair distance down and let that play out. If you hide deep enough this game basically becomes a construction simulator instead of a zombie game because they won't bother you anymore...
