Hunger and thirst changes

I tried doing a search for this topic and didn't find anything so my bad if this is a double post. I would like to see the hunger and thirst done in a different way for one you get hungry and thirsty far too quickly. I have never had to eat 8 times a day even when I was in the army and working my butt off in the field. Drinking water is different story you can drink water all day long depending on the situation, but if we are going for true survival then you should be able to go for days without eating however adding a penalty for going X amount of time without food kind of like the progression for when you are infected in the game. The same goes for water you should be able to go through stages of dehydration that is in part based off of physical activity and receive penalties for not drinking leading up to death. Going along with this I was also thinking that if you are going to boil pork or eggs why do you need to sacrifice your container for this all your doing is dumping the water into the pan so they need to allow you to retrieve your jar when your boiling meat or cooking stews if anything I suppose they could add something like a 30% chance of dropping your jar and it breaks but there is no good reason why you should lose jars when you cook. Also what do you think about being able to use tin cans as cooking containers and for boiling water? (They would be limited to only a few uses before being destroyed or even a certain amount of seconds/mins.)

It has been posted many times before already actually. There are multiple threads regarding this so yeah, just look a little bit harder next time. But anyway, probably the main reason why hunger and thirst gets consumed so fast is because there needs to be a way to ensure that food isn't too easy to acquire. Yes, it can be tough starting out when a player can have very little food. My allies and I had huge food issues early in the game. We were constantly starving. Add to the fact we had to regularly feed 3 people total (at that time) and any food we find was very quickly consumed. It was such a huge issue that I personally made building a farm a priority. Once I had it set up, we were very relieved because our food shortage had finally been solved. We now have 3 big farms and so much food stocked that we actually don't need to hunt at all, Therefore a player can very quickly acquire a stable source of food after a few days if they go about it right. In mid to late game, a player can be so well established that food is inconsequential. So yes, we may be consuming food so fast in the game that its rather unrealistic, but its not game breaking or anything. In fact, I think its probably just fine right now. Though yes, I do agree that its weird we lose the glass jars simply because we are cooking food. Its not like we're using the glass bits as condiments for the food :P. But its not such a huge issue now I guess. They did allow us to retain glass jars after we've drunk from them now. So in due time, they may include the option of retaining glass jars after cooking.
