A few ideas / curveballs to throw at you guys!

Hey fellow survivors first post! Just got into the game, I have to say I really like the realism this game entails and it's got an absolutely epic concept, being a developer myself I thought I'd share my thoughts / idea's to you guys... Please take not these are the things I think could add to the realism of the game and I'm taking into consideration this game is still in Alpha Phase. ======= Temperature / Environmental Factors ========= At the moment I'm holed up in a Desert Biome, really getting on fine, deserts aren't as inhospitable as you think! However I've realized that my hunger goes down faster then my thirst level! Kind of weird suggesting I'm in a desert and in realism terms the human body can last about a month without food whilst water you've got about 2 - 4 days, and in a desert, that may go down to one day depending on temperature... So in the next few patches it would great to see massive environmental factors introduced, like temperature that will effect the way your hunger / water levels drop and how fast your stamina may drop and additionally conserving those water / hunger levels in shade, yet again relying on a temperature factor. Some people may write this right off as being too realistic, however I feel as the game is bent on realism, it would be a great addition to the game! ======= Animations / Combat ========= At the moment animations, are on a simple basis, which is expecting in an Alpha release however, seeing some more animations would add to that "Realistic" feel of the game, instead of just a straight hit, I want side hits I want clobbers to zombies legs. That moves on to combat, at the moment it's very simple and probably the most unrealistic part of the game so far, moving in and out and hitting, duhhhhhh what a procedural way of fighting (If only it was that easy really!) a good idea would be to have when a zombies goes to hit you, you can block that hit at a expense of using more energy (hydration, hunger, temperature rise and stamina use) and have a struggle with the zombie if he tries to hit me. With that I refer to the Dead Island game, when a zombie hits you, of course, it can hit you, but there's a chance it can grab you and start chomping at you if you don't press the right buttons quick enough! That sort of realism would be a great aspect to have and breaking the procedural fighting style that 100% of player take on with melee combat. Additionally, could we possible throw our weapon at zombies? So far if you run out of bullets or bolts, your in the crapper and you have to go in for a close confrontation / run away, however this should be highly inaccurate (Have you ever tried to throw a knife to hit something? It takes years of practice and accuracy!) ======= Material Effects / Recyclability ========= This would be another realistic effect, at the moment, you make some bolts out of, Sharp stone, sticks and feathers, god that's really going on Native Indian style! It's great too! However it views as a iron bolt, god I sure wish stone arrows were as effective as sharp tipped iron arrows, but nope no way, never in a trillion years. Therefore stone bolts, stone axes etc should consider the material they are made out of and be less effective then their Iron counterparts, this is already considered slightly in durability and effectiveness. However in terms of bolt effectiveness, Iron bolts, if ever introduced should be re-obtainable on use, allowing us to recycle the use of certain items, which if you look at real survival, is what it is all about! If everything could only be used once, I think we wouldn't of make it out of our Ice Age or in fact the next week! ======== Ranting of ideas over ========== Some idea's I'm sure you guys have had yourselves, some have written off immediately for being too ambitious. Awesome, that's why it's posted in a forum! I have considered it is in Alpha Phase and that some of these idea's may be on the roadmap, I do have more idea's as they flood in, however I'll end it there to see what you guys think of them. Cheers guys! Thanks for reading!
