KurookamiRyou
Hey Clare, it’s me again. GT KurookamiRyou Started a new map with my best friend for my birthday. Believe the seed was “BirfdehGame” or something like that. 120 min per day. Low spawn zombies. Air drop mark on. Tool belt drop on death only. Underground base with hatch entrance on an island in the middle of a huge lake. Having experienced MD5 more than 5 times in past games/seeds, I dug a long base that spanned half the lake underneath and ended in a minibike ramp that came up on the mainland. I spread out everything. Separate room for forge, storage, cooking fires, workbench, and Chem station. No cement mixer placed yet. I was host for the game. I was underground and my guest was on the island up top. My guest crashed first, which is unusual. When we logged back in, it seemed several places had been hit, not the usual one chunk of area. Our first building setup (not the building with hatch entrance to underground) was partially hit. Just the part with a vampire and workbench. The building with hatch entry was mostly gone. The forge room at the base of the ladder was gone along with 3 or the 4 temp storage boxes there. Moving down the base, my room was fine. Next was the storage room, which was also fine. Across from it, however, our kitchen had been taken. Further down the base, my guests room was taken. Besides that, the chem station was gone as well. The workbench room and the minibikes and ramp were fine. So several areas were hit on this MD5. Anything else I can tell you? Let me know. Ever since I started experiencing MD5, I started spreading out crafting stations greatly, and never close to each other and NEVER near storage. And I make several bases and spread out gathered items. Even though I know it can happen and I’m prepared, it still hits me hard when it happens. Lots of wasted time and rss. Especially when you have a full forge. The game takes a long time to load (and I’m wary when it doesn’t) and it crashes often. I love this game, and I hate it sometimes.
Clare
Hi KurookamiRyou, Thank you for sharing the information on this MD5 error you experienced. I am sorry to hear you were hit in so many places at once. Would you consider this wipe to be in almost a Checkerboard style pattern across the base? I have heard of this style of MD5 hitting before and wondering if it is the same. For your client crashing out, can you describe what they saw when they crashed? You mentioned they crashed first, can you confirm if you then also crashed or logged out to reset? If you also crashed please elaborate on what you saw / experienced? Is this the same crash you are referring to in l3ig l3omber's thread? Just in case you have not seen it before, there is a player found workaround that a lot of players swear by to avoid MD5 errors - https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?69218-Possible-work-around-and-or-solution-to-md5-crashes(base-wipes-resets) - as it is unofficial, caution is advised. But worth noting as so many players have found success with it. If you did try this workaround and found it did / didn't work, please let me know as I'm trying to keep track of the success rate. I understand that the MD5 errors are frustrating and disheartening for players and I appreciate you taking the time to share the info you have on the errors that have effected you. Jerseyguy
Crash and lost everything Hello, had a MD5 issue. Low setting on zombies,120 minutes set for actual 24 hour time span,Tool belt drop on death only, Daylight lasting 16 hours. Built a fairly decent base and aqcuired quite a bit and lost it all during crash. I had a few crashes before but this is the first where I've lost everything. Clare
Hi Jerseyguy, Thank you for reporting your experience. In future, it may be beneficial for you to start your own thread in Console Bug Reports for reporting occurrences. For now if you are on XB1 also workaround I listed above in my response to KurookamiRyou will likely be your best bet for avoiding the MD5 errors while the team continues to work on this issue. If you have any further questions about the MD5 errors, or any other issues you might be having, please start a new thread and I'll get to it asap.
