V3lv3T
So, I'm trying to figure out when cops actually explode... Since all i can find is they explode when charging you. However, sometimes i get the time to do a couple headshots and they die, sometimes they explode after 2 shots without even being close to me yet.... Is there a mechanic, is it random, what's the deal?
Maharin
It's based on a % of damage, I think. So once they get below half (no clue if that's true) they go into "Ima gonna explode" mode and then you have a period of time to kill them before that happens. You can kill them before they explode with a crossbow and spiked club with head shots, for sure, but you may even be able to do with the a barbed club, too. I've never done it successfully starting with a standard bow and stone arrows or with lesser clubs.
Cadamier
Well - what I've observed is that once they make contact/see/sense you then there seems to be a timer that starts, and after that time then they'll explode. Because even if you don't shoot them (seems like a longer timer) they'll 'charge' and explode. Don't know 'the time' of how long or anything... Just my observations. Can't confirm or deny Maharins' point.
ColdGate
I saw somewhere in forum, that explosion triggers at 80% HP loss, but they have regeneration, and I noticed few times, after they charging with heartstroke, if they got small damage and animation interrupted, HP regen may tick at that moment, and they may return to common state. Can't confirm or deny Maharins' point. I've had plenty of cases where they have not exploded, even after initially noticing me and taking damage. I have only seen them explode after taking sufficient damage first and then the delay. They make a charging noise once the "about to explode" timer starts. Numberz
The exploding is triggered at about 75 - 80 HP loss. Once triggered, they explode in 8 seconds unless you kill them first or they regain enough HP to go back above the threshold. The timing once triggered is hard coded, not configurable by xml. kevink27
What Maharin said. Same here.
Working As intended
Yeah i believe it's at a certain percentage of HP lost, but most of the time in my case, it's when the explosion would be the most inconvenient and make the biggest mess of the environment possible/destroy the most containers. StompyNZ
They trigger at 40% health and will explode ~6.5 seconds later. Once triggered they will not go back to normal if they heal The first stage of them charging is 100 ticks ~5secs, then they will animate the explode pose for 30 ticks ~1.5 seconds. They can take longer if the server is less than 20 fps
wicketness
stompyNZ you need to bring your bomber zombies back to life, i miss them lol so many players have been victims on my hardcore modded servers lol. I wish i knew how to do that but 10k damage with puke and blowing up will have to do lol. if you ever did it i would pick it up in a heartbeat lol
Cadamier
I thought that it was only the radiated zeds that regen?

I have only seen them explode after taking sufficient damage first and then the delay. They make a charging noise once the "about to explode" timer starts. If one of the cops start making a loud heartbeat noise, thats the cue that its going to explode in a few seconds so either kill it quick or run. Its pretty loud as well so its pretty hard to miss it. But with second stage Im not sure, need make some tests. For second phase I sure only about case when animation explode pose interrupted, but cop explode anyway
