n2n1
I suggest, along with reducing the Wellness - subtract the XP-point which were accumulated and not spent, or, record them in debt if not have unspent. What you think about it? or another ideas? (sorry if someone already offered here)

n2n1
Playing Death is Death allready fix that. There is a mod allow to offer Death is Death even on Servers unfortunately, sometimes it's accidental incident is beyond the control of the player, or something like that. therefore, the "one life" - i do not consider a solution... n2n1
Attribute loss will be a new penalty for death. Yes, i think it will be an important element to improve the gameplay! Still, i hope that we can somehow influence these "attributes" through xml...for example - change them for others, or add own...
Katitof
Game does not need harsher death penalties. Game needs more sources to make that death approach.

Guppycur
Attribute loss will be a new penalty for death. How are these penalties delivered? Xml I assume... So... Buffs?
Roland
I don't know specifics yet because the whole attribute system is still in flux and not completely hooked up. I'm just repeating something Kinyajuu said. He said that because of attributes dying would become more impactful and nobody would decide to get rid of an unwanted debuff by killing themselves because the consequences would be quite a bit worse. Attributes are a new set of character stats: Strength, Perception, Fortitude, Agility, and Intelligence I believe are the five categories. All skills will be branches of these five main trunks with perks being offshoots of the skills. The fortitude attribute, for example, will replace the current wellness system in determining maximum hitpoints and stamina while actual wellness benefits and penalties will be handled by the new comprehensive buff and debuff system that can be dialed in to specific events and items. So you can see that in just the case of wellness the attribute system along with the buff and debuff system will improve and deepen the whole concept of "wellness" beyond what we have now. In a similar way the attribute system will make it so that the developers can tune in specific penalties for death that go beyond losing what you are carrying and going to half-health and half-stamina and -10 max HP and stamina. They will be able to introduce penalties in five different areas of character progression rather than the current one dimension of a wellness penalty. Kattla
Would a loss of stats due to death be permanent, or more like the current wellness system (we can build and rebuild it back up over time).
StompyNZ
Would a loss of stats due to death be permanent, or more like the current wellness system (we can build and rebuild it back up over time). you could have it either way from what I understand of the new system. I would imagine both at the same time would be ideal, you get a big hit just after death, but the worst of it fades over a day leaving you with just the permanent loss at the end
Roland
Too soon to say how this will go as far as permanent loss or not. Probably will be configurable in the xmls.
