TheObserver Posted September 14, 2014 Share Posted September 14, 2014 Something that I feel would enhance the game for players trying to get up and started (as well as for established players looking to build up their bases further and faster) is to have a [URL="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geological_survey"]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geological_survey[/URL] item that can be found on occasion in desks, filing cabinets, and desk safes. The item could be carried around like any other, and when used, would mark on the map the location of any ore veins within a radius of the player (say, 50 blocks as an initial estimate). Keep in mind that this item would only tell the location of any such veins - it would still be up to the player to find the means to dig them out, and with any possible underground hazards there may be, it might not be as easy as initially thought...
