Walterstj
Everyone must have favorite spots... I've set up in Perishton, Diersville, the desert and I have to say, I find the forest my favorite... I've never messed with the snow biome, short of a couple of runs to the trader... Where do y'all set up shop more often then most?
Thelek
i always set up in the desert or plains, or as close as possible. often going as far as restarting a new game as many times as it takes to start in one of those biomes. the reasos i prefer those 2 biomes is that if you start in desert or plains, you are essentially starting the game with a nearly unlimited supply of food & drink. and in the desert, there is the bonus of a nearty limitless supply of heal8ng componeys. in my experience, the desert is the easiest biome to survive in and wasteland and snow are the hardest. mrkrow69
Myself, I prefer the Maple biome. But they all work and I don't care eventually. I haven't played Navs for so long that I couldn't say what town I prefer. Random maps typically don't have town names. I really enjoy the cabin with a balcony and the forge. That is my favorite as I can do little to no fortifying and easily survive the first 3 hordes.
MadArchitect
For my main base, I prefer the forest for the overall aesthetic. It kind of feels like camping. I also enjoy the atmosphere of the snow biome; it really captures the essence of a real life snowfall in terms of the silence and the sky effects, although I would prefer to build a secondary base in the snow biome only when I have a decent surplus of supplies from my main base. Nootcaase
It's easier for me to list my least favorite area.. The wasteland..
Damselx1
I like to be in one of the forests, ideally with other bioms in easy reach. One our current game, I am at a large town in the maple forest, which runs along side the desert - perfect for healing stuff, sand, food and drink and of course, fuel for the bike. ZombieHoG
In the beginning i like to be in the desert. But most of the time i take what i get (except wasteland). As soon as i have cement i move to the hub.

I feel the same way, but I look for a town in one of those biomes with the well type bunker and build a structure over it, using the bunker as my crafting/storage area. Walterstj
I'll admit I like the desert on the Navezgane map more than I thought I would... My poi spot leaves me between the 2 traders and close enough to the forest for everything else...
BucFanJKE
In navegane there is a lake spot kind of between the bookstore and tool store south of the road. That was always my favorite place to build because it had plenty of flat land and I wasn't near anything important. The farm NW of Diersville was always a decent spot to just due to the large amount of flat land. In random gen it really just depends on my spawn. A little forge house if I can find them is ideal, but if not I will find a house in or near a city to go live in for the first bit until I get around to building my own base. I tend to avoid the Wasteland and Burning biomes. I don't particularly care for the snow biome as my home, but it would be bottom three for sure. I prefer building in the light green biome just because I think it is the prettiest, but I typically go with any green or plains biome I find that has semi flat land. When we've played on Navesgane, I've tended to set up here too, as it's close to the centre of the map, the trader in the burnt zone and there's plenty of looting locations within easy reach. Walterstj
I tried a structure @ the farm but the corn falling over left the ground in invisible chunks that screwed up block placement or concrete simply never dried there... It was only on the actual farm land where the corn was...

Yes, very central and close to lots of good stuff. Glad to know I wasn't the only person who loved it there. - - - Updated - - - I tried a structure @ the farm but the corn falling over left the ground in invisible chunks that screwed up block placement or concrete simply never dried there... It was only on the actual farm land where the corn was... I didn't have that issue at the farm, but it's been a long time since I played Navezgane so it could have popped up since I last played. That's really a bummer though because one could build a monstrous base without any terraforming.
skullpoker
The bunker under the well was great, as was the adobe in the canyon. But Navezgane is so loot poor that it's just not worth playing. Also, there is no spot where Snow/Wasteland+Plains/Burning+Green Forest meet up to make a bullet farm.
Thelek
yes, the houses with the forges are great finds and i used to seek them out for my base. but now i just use the forge there until i get my bedrock crafting area built, the i go snag them with a wrench to install them in my "Bat cave".
