Just do DM and when you talk to him you have option to reset.

the trader books are a new feature that might make more sense when I reset them(?!)

it's part of the new experimental update/build...from DF discord "Traders now reward items that grant the player faction with JUST that trader"

I think the "books" are there because I didn't reset. Will try tomorrow.

We found one of them last night. Great gaming session.

 

Picked up some laser weapons (swords & pistols), which was great, but there was no Laser Multi-Tool in the work bench. Was there supposed to be? Also, we scraped the place clean but didn't find one in a bench or container either.

 

Was there something we were supposed to do with the blue portal? We destroyed it, and somehow it got into my buddies inventory. He placed it back down and interacted with it and it disappeared for good.

 

So, still without the laser multi-tool.

We were able to find them both.

Hello I am playing on 18.4 experimenttal on dfmedium2 map and am wondering:

- as mining xp(when it come to player level) been removed from the mod?

- is it normal that my trader can once again sell high end vehicle part like motorcycle or 4 x 4 parts, I'm curious if that is something that related to the war of the walkers mod I was playing before I decided to re-install darkness-falls.

Vanilla buildings can't be added to the map generator? The whole map is filled with boring houses. Especially infuriating are these Japanese old buildings everywhere. I want a zombie Apocalypse in the city of megapolis with high-rise buildings, but all around these old houses from Japan. Even in Japan, these buildings are only in the Museum.

I don't find "that" many...but there are a bunch

 

you can totally create your own prefab list using Nitrogen...

(edit out anything Asian if you want!)

and also make mega citys that cover the entire map ;)

 

Just make sure you start from the custom DF prefablist.txt file

along with the mod provided Prefabs folder content in your steam install directory when creating the RWG map

 

no more undead sushi for you!

Do the plants close to the rain barrel grow? The ones on the outside probably won't because that isn't enough water for the whole crop. But let us know if the ones close to the water are growing.

 

Those look like farm plots which I have only use with the irrigation system not a rain barrel actually. Have you tried your system with only fertilized dirt (using the hoe to till)? That could be your problem.

 

Thanks for the reply. Every single one says seed none say growing. The irrigation system I thought was a higher level then a plain rain catcher. Didnt try dirt cause I thought I read they need to be in plots now.

Hello I am playing on 18.4 experimenttal on dfmedium2 map and am wondering:

 

I haven't used the 18.4 experimental branch option in a while so I'm not sure what the latest version of the game is at now. But in case it matters both the regular and experimental versions of DF are intended for 18.4 Stable (not experimental as you note). Steam gives you 18.4.b5 when you choose 18.4 stable. You can always check what version DF is intended for in the launcher description for the mod.

Hey, KGB,

 

I'm new to running/owning a server, and tried to follow your instructions for installing the mod into the server, but I am running into a rolling error where the class'BlockPlantGrowingWithWater, Mods' not being found. do you have a thorough guide on installing the mod on a server? or can anyone help with this error? I really want to try this mod out.

 

Edit: After leaving the server running while trying to load in, it seems like the server is caught in a death loop trying to load the plants in and failing. I can't find a reference to this yet in the documents, so if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it.

Did you ever find a solution to this? Having the same problem. Server is up and running just fine. I can join just fine. Wife gets this never ending loop that you had. She has the EXACT same files that I have in the EXACT same place. I cannot find a fix for this. Would really like to play the mod together with her. I'm all out of ideas. Or, is this not working on dedi servers? Thanks

Both are closer to the burning land than the edlge of the map. The SE is outside the city on the south side.

We might start over for the pre-gen.

 

Is there any recommend pre-gen for 4-6 player?

 

we love big map.

 

If I want to set up to a dedicated server. (i have one set up, not sure how to set up pre-gen map on server config setting)

Should we stick with default setting, raise max zombie, max animal?

How do I pick a pre-gen?

 

One of the medium maps would be fine for that amount of players, but they do require players to have 16GB RAM.

 

I usually leave max animals alone and increase max zombies to 100.

 

Look in serverconfig.xml. It tells you how to pick already created maps.

 

he is some experimenting im doing over a 9 day period. The middle one was my first build, third one was second (neither got any water over a 4 day period.) The first pic was my latest try it had water but still no crops building.

 

Not sure why it's not working for you. I have a similar setup and it works fine.

 

Hello Khaine.

(1) The armor shredder ammo mod seems to not work on multiplayer but does in single player. In single player when i shoot at military zombies with shotgun without mod they take no damage and with mod on they take damage. In multiplayer it does not matter if the mod is on or off, they still take no damage with a shotgun. Why is this happening ?

 

(2) The perk "The Survivor" seems to not increase the duration of the consumables.

 

Armor shredder definitely works in MP, cos I was playing on a server and had that setup last week.

 

It's not supposed to, so the localization may need fixing. It's supposed to change how long you can last between drinks instead (lowers the amount of water to stamina conversion rate)

 

I tried out the farmer class and am a little unsure on the details of farming - the journal entry doesn't seem to be working, with the text displaying whatever I previously had selected in the journal.

 

Is there a reason to use the farm plot block instead of hoeing the ground? At first I thought the hoe was farmer exclusive while the plot was what everyone else used, but then I noticed the plot also requires a recipe or farmer perk.

I kinda disliked how expensive the block was at first, but came to like how it affected my gameplay. The plot requires a bunch of resources from corpses, so it encouraged me to go out and fight zombies in order to expand my farm. I wouldn't even mind if it was the main method for farming... but with the hoe, plot blocks seem to be unnecessary. Or do they have some long term advantage, like growing plants faster or not needing water?

 

For normal farming, the hoe'd ground works fine.

 

The farm plots are required for the farmer mastery specific recipes. So for the Hydroponic plants. They need farm plot + irrigation + grow lights.

 

I love this mod! The most fun I've had in a game since....Fallout 3!

 

my 3rd playthrough, first 2 times were on Nitrogen maps...this time on the #1 Med map (which was also Nitrogen I think)

so far, so great! I'm on the latest experimental 2.51 b2 and wondering why I need to use Debug Mode to re-stock the trader inventory/quests?

I didn't after updating and it seems OK, but maybe I'm missing something...

I'm resetting my dedicated server. After learning about pre-gen is the way to play this mod. (Which Dfalls-Small should I play?)

We are playing on bluefangserver. They recommend playing on server map 8192 x 8192 or smaller. They charge $30 a month for map 12k or bigger. (not sure if my 4-6 player server will ever explore more than 8k of map)

 

Is there any server setting you recommend to play on? I normally play everything on default. Except for bloodmoon since we keep getting wipe after bloodmoon day 21.

 

I'd change max spawned zombies to 100, otherwise everything looks fine.

 

Personally I like small3. No idea why, I just do. :)

 

not sure if this is Darkness Falls related...

 

On Horde night (98 onwards) I'm getting the occassional "ArgumentException: the object you want to instantiate is null" in the consol as well as "WRN [AugioLog] AudioManager::AudioData::Play() failed to load audio source object for AudioSource_CreatureSenseAlert". Am I the only one? Also interspersed is INF Discarding NetPackagePlayerStats for entiry Id=72718 and 72669

 

Quitting the main menu results in a NullReferenceException Spam in the consol until finally exiting the game.

 

Trying to track that down atm. I've been given a log for it and it says it's something to do with zombies, but i'm going through the F6 list, spawning them all and had no issues so far. So i'm really confused.

 

what are the Trader Faction Books used for? better pricing? I've had 3-4 so far, Jen and Joel...read Jen twice but didn't notice a difference

(I will eventually figure it out...but maybe this has something to do with not DB-resetting them?)

My NPC trader keeps dying but i can talk to him? Whats going on?

There's like 3 npc trader now. keep duplicating themselves.

 

This is what happens if you turn trader protection off. Not a lot I can do about it. Just kill them and eventually it'll "reset" itself.

 

Is there anyway to upgrade 'Steel' blocks to 'Titanium', or do you have to craft with Titanium blocks?

 

You need the titanium clawhammer.

- Is it trader bob? If so, that's intended.

Wife stuck in a loop trying to join dedicated server. I have uninstalled her game, twice. Made sure she has the same files as I do. She can play SP just fine but keeps getting this error (I see others have posted with the same problem) Exception: Class "blockplantgrowingwithwater" Mods' not found on block cropsgrowingmaster. ERR XML loader. Loading and parsing failed. Everything is in the right place. I read in the sticky that both clients and server need the server files. Anyone have any ideas? I can play just fine, dedicated server is up and running just fine.

 

Figured it out. Took out server files. Using only base mod files for SP and works fine for dedicated server/client.

anywayz....not game breaking at all. Everything else as far as changes in build 2 that I've noticed works great.

zombie Utility Worker Frozen definitely causes the problem if that helps...

 

edit in fact spawning any frozen zombie seems to generate it

edit 2: Im using the mod manager to launch this, had a quick check and the FrozenZombies.unity3d in the Data\Bundles directory was 5025kb. The TempMods\Data\Bundles folder has this as 133,612kb. Copied this over manually from TempMods, launched the exe directly instead of with the mod launcher and now i can spawn these frozen zombies back in with no issues.

Edit 3: Last one - the mod manager is outputting this when presynching:

 

"Copying \TempMods\Data\Bundles\Zombies.unity3d to \Data\Bundles\FrozenZombies.unity3d"

 

 

Which isnt helpful and suspect is the issue

Once a demon sets you on fire is there any way to douse it?

 

Drinking water doesn't seem to help.

You're not looking for quests. Here's a hint.

So I went on my server and spawned ALL of them. No problems at all.

Check my last edit in case our posts crossed, the mod manager is being naughty and copying zombies.unity3d over FrozenZombies.unity3d. Seems odd though, i would think this would just dump one directory into the other but maybe its scipted somehow to do specific filenames?

Thank you for the hint! Downloaded NitroGen and prefab generator. Downloaded prefablist.txt from this topic. But it didn't work out. I tried it in different ways, and edited the files following the recommendations here on the forum. Please tell me how to generate a map for DF? I think many users will be grateful to receive instructions.

So I just read the DFTraderRektFactionBook like 10 times.

I'm still not sure what it does? It doesn't say anything in the description.

 

I do see a new dialogue option now...

It doesn't do anything.
