Back after a LONG hiatus. Did I miss anything?

Well, the work benches now have a purpose, for one. You can use them to combine items and get a higher quality. The mining is totally different and takes a lot of getting used to. Raw iron is a thing. Chemistry stations can be used to make things like gun powder for fewer resources. The zombies haven't changed a whole lot but I've heard the dogs have been balanced. If course, traders are a thing now as well. Oh, and there's a treasure map to a heli pad in the irradiated zone if you can get a full set of hazmat gear... okay, that one was a joke :)

Yeah. This mining change has me a bit confused. Might have to make some important changes to my base structures. Where as I used to build one mega base, now I may actually build multiple bases with a centralized horde night base.

Learned the hard way upon starting a new map the other day. Been mining for several in game nights, and haven't found jack.

Also, I noticed that you can't change many options on open multiplayer games. Disheartening.

But the biggest thing I have noticed is that even after such a long break, game crashes/MD5 errors are still a thing.

And the damned mining helmets are almost mythical in this play through.

You can actually craft mining helmets now. I don't remember if you need a work bench, but I believe it just takes a football helmet and a flashlight.

I noticed also the only ore I find in abundance is lead... It's everywhere... I found iron and shale in the desert, but I've never seen coal, nitrate powder in abundance... I dug the same size hole in the desert I dug in the forest and had a cave in, wasn't pretty... The original game I started, the entire area under the farm was one big iron deposit... Haven't found a single iron ore, outside of the random spots I found in the desert, it's there, but sparse

sadly, after a year and a half those left playing just have to accept that they cant fix it and they are not interested in coming up with a solution to protect their customers data from these errors. it's quite sad as the game had such potential but live and learn.

I totally quit Playing months ago over the Mining, Went back to COD with the WW2 and trying to figure out Ark Survival. But I still check back on the forum, hoping they put old mining back. Once Red Dead Redemption 2 is out & Days will have to be deleted to make room.

I bought ARK on early access on launch day a few years ago. Servers were hard to get into. All servers maxed. I use to be a beast at building stuff. But my base always got raided when I wasn't online in PVP. Red Dead 2 i'll probably get. But worried Rock Star will get greedy and push shark cards onto us like GTA5. I miss ARK but ya need to play that like 8 to 10 hours a day building bases and defenses and need a active tribe on daily around the clock pretty much. Its cool they got some no tame servers so dinos are just randoms now.

The MD5 is what made me walk away. So many hours of work destroyed. I lost elaborate builds, countless resources, and much of my sanity.

I was able to minimize it for awhile, and I agree with the fact that you can set a watch by the dash boarding. For weeks, on my private game, it would crash every hour on the hour. I would time it, and do hard resets. During this time, I found a correlation between how much loot you had stored/number of players on your map and the amount of changes made to the world.

Don't get me started on the minibike. Probably 15 of them scattered throughout my old game, some with stacks and stacks of meat from hunting.

I did log in after the minibike icon update, but only had one show up on my map, that I encased in a shadowbox above a bar I built.

Stay away from the wasteland!!!

The wasteland is a place of despair. I would recommend staying away until you are sufficiently armed and ready to make that plunge into damnation. Me and my friend were trying to go to trader Joel's......but were following the road and crossed slightly into the wasteland biome, and were met with 3 dogs and a group of zombies..........and a bear was waiting for us back on the other side of our pine forest biome:apathy:
