yeah the snow covering stuff atm is a little too much for me not to mention it buried my quest trader and i couldnt dig out the trader as its protected area. But all in all its a great mod love the custom mobs and items but i feel hunger and thirst degradation are a little insane as im fighting atm to keep above 0 hunger and thrist been at zero on both 3 times on first day

 

SphereII removed the trader protection from the prefabs xml. Asuming your install worked properly if you are getting that then there might have been one that got missed.

 

For me the food challenge is entirely what this mod is about :) ... at least until you get a farm up and running.

Thanks for the feed back. There was one trader that was missed; protection is supposed to be removed from all of them. For first release, we missed one, but we did a patch to fix it. Let me know if it's still a problem, and if so, which one, so I can re-check.

I changed this. I left the Height alone, but changed the degrees.

 

Pretty sure that's what caused the elevation to be off. I would just alter the biomes temp and subtract it from the lowest height which gives a +10 degrees. So make the snow biomes max temp based off of that.

(ex: "-80,-70" min/max biome temp change to like "-90, -80") that way you make up the difference. Do something like that and I'm pretty sure you'll get the correct elevation back.

 

I personally don't think it's a big deal having the elevation off but that's me.

Thanks for the information. I'll adjust it back to vanilla. I don't think it had the effect I wanted. Even with the biomes temperature adjusted to wacky levels, I've seen people overheat. That really shouldn't be possible in this mod :)

Anabella - Not an hour later, I saw you were streaming this, and I popped in right at the tail end of you..

trying to kill the burping-antler-thing through a hole in your igloo, hilarious. And the kitty reveal was what actually sealed the deal for me.

 

 

Creators - Just wanted to say I'm having alot of fun. Really like the creative story, holiday and creepy features, the massive digging and the hud! Perfect timing also while we all wait for A17. Anyway, I hope I set this up correctly regarding the ModLauncher. I did an advanced install because I wanted to keep things seperate, and was happy I managed to get a game started.

 

I have a few questions though, thanks for your patience..

 

1. Are we able to make snow/ice block ramps? (If yes, I'll figure it out, thanks)

 

2. Are foods giving a smell buff? I didin't see any but wanted to double-check.

 

3. Since I already installed this mod, if I wanted to, could I change the destination folder for mods by just deleting the 7D2D folder and/or by File>Clear>etc., and reinstall?

 

4. I noticed in the 7D2D folder theres an empty saves folder, however my MerryComSens game is saving to my original 7dtd default save folder (appdata>roaming). Is this intended?

 

5. I always play offline, SP, no need for EAC. So because of this, I'm glad a desktop shortcut from the mod's game folder works. I don't need to have the Launcher running all the time, only for mod updates yes?

 

6. Is Merry ComSens compatible with 16.4 exp b2?

Glad you are enjoying the mod.

 

1) There is only snow and ice blocks. I don't think xyth made any ramps.

 

2) Food buffs are broke in A16 vanilla, and this mod does not re-introduce them

 

3) Click on the Starting Splash Screen, and change the path there, by the blue Folder.

 

4) If you click on "Save All Games Local to Mod", it should store your save games under C:\7D2D\Saves\<ModName>

 

5) That's correct. YOu only need to use the Mod Launcher to keep updated

 

6) The mod has Alpha 16.4 baked into the mod, which is where all the changes from the last experimental was placed. This mod will also replace nearly all the files, except for the zombie re-texturing, if it was applied to a different version of the game.

So cool that you are trying this out. It's more fun than it was seeming last night too. The lack of stamina wore me down a bit and I was starting to drag by the end of the stream. That kitten is so freaking cute!!!

After killing the deer, I've been SUPER weary of killing boars and rabbits but so far so good... saw an airdrop, had hoped to see Santa, but hey, if that's my only disappointment then by the Gods, you guys have succeeded.

 

Died once to Stompy (hadn't realized I had PvP on) and another time to bleeding out, and 99% of what I'm doing is food foraging. It's a rough world out there, as it should be.

 

Jax would love this.

 

Leveling isn't slowed by gating or artificial constructs, it's slowed by fracking starvation, lack of plants in the world, and having to dig out poi's... =)

 

I think Stompy likes to kill people....just saying. LOL I am enjoying the mod a lot. Though we did get lucky with so many of us and finding a good city. My SP I am still looking for one and those snow storms are making it a huge hardship on it.

So far I've killed guppy by shooting his foot with an arrow, killed Anabelle with my snow shovel, and killed Anabelle with an exploding barrel (was killing a rad feral cop in the med tower).

 

People gotta learn not to stand in front of the crazy man with the assault rifle :p

 

I unlocked concrete last night and the farm is coming along for corn, potatoes, and the underground mushroom farm is expanding. Almost on top of the food shortage :)

 

Lumberjack gave me a nice yellow steel pick too

 

IF some modder would fix the chat so it could stay up for more than a second I might have seen the wanting that you were going to "gas barrel" the feral. *hint* *hint*

I'm really glad folks are enjoying this "Proof of Concept". I am surprised at how few unbalances there are, considering we did almost no modification of the Comsence mod. I hope someone decides this mod is worth refining and expanding on. SphereII and I have too many things we want to work on, so like Valoween, this won't get a lot of attention from us unless there are major bugs found. Maybe others can tweak and enhance the game play in the future based on player input.

3 towns? Let me know if you find any towns above the snow, and we'll fix it =D

 

LOL, yeah. I used to enjoy playing True Survival for its difficulty, but frankly this mod is the hardest yet. Good thing the minimum cap is 70 health, i'd be 10 health by now. It makes me want to restart and see if I can do better each time.

Where is the sources of coal? Getting ready to start trying to make gun powder and have barely any coal.

 

According to the XML file describing biomes and sphereii himself - there isn't any source of coal or oil shale. Both are extremely rare resources.

 

The only coal I've found came from dead trees on top of apache sites. And resource boulders.

I have a suggestion for a coal fix - those christmas presents you find around could contain lumps of coal, like you know, being bad for christmas and all means santa sent you coal! :D

 

For shortages I'd suggest also bumping up how much stuff the trader stocks such as ammo and things. It would make interacting with the trader essential later on, because from him you could get more resources and such.

 

But then again, maybe the trader wouldn't be able to get stock since you know, he's snowed in :p Hehe

I like it! I pushed the changes to the loot list. Refresh from the launcher for the latest SP.

 

An official release will be done in the next day or two.

** Update time! **

 

Note: SP play through the Mod Launcher should already be updated, if you have Refresh Mods Automatically checked.

 

- Slowed down some really aggressive moves by the lumberjack - They are now throttled a bit

- Added blackSanta to the spawning group with a slight bump to spawning rates

- Bumped the seal to spawn a bit more frequently

- Adjusted loot for gifts to provide a source of coal / oil shale

- Removed movement collider off the trees, to make getting around their a bit easier

- Removed duplicate entities

- Fixed null refs when using spikes on some entities

- Fixed the stag's death to be more MP-friendly.

sphereii After a while begins to lag. It looks like a memory leak or a problem with UI.

 

When loading chunks, especially towns and cities, the game lags as the snowFill does it's magic. It's recommended to slow down when entering new areas, and let it catch up. A lot happens, and all optimization attempts have failed :)

Maybe it's because of the huge mountains. There is also a problem with hitboxes. Night monsters must disappear in the morning, do not they? At me they remain and run in the afternoon. Fashion could be interesting, but because of wild lags it is not playable for me.

Edit: Great delays occur not only when traveling, but also when looting, when you close the box

The world is deceptively heavy. If you'd like, you can find ComSens mod in the Mod Launcher, under CratorCreator's section. It'll be the mod without the Nightmares and Snow.
