Zombies do not go through 1x1 openings. The pathing grid is a shared resource and is designed for 2m tall paths.

So zombies are no longer able to go though 1x1 openings as of A-17 then. OK.

Do modifiers apply to vehicles too?

For instance; electric shocking on vehicles

This reminds me if is there any plans to make us be able to shoot while driving from any sort of vehicles. Might be sloppy done for fun, but a fun while drivin 4x4 for example.

I remember the early minibike days when Madmole said you could melee while driving, just like jousting. I so wish this was a thing.

I think Alpha 12, when Madmole was testing it out before the experimental release. We never got to see it but at the time (when he used to talk to us frequently) he said it was possible. Probably an early concept bug, but would've been awesome.

well since it's been over a year since A16's release, I hope it is. most of us have been waiting patently but I really hope some of the on going bugs that plagued A16 have been fixed with this new release. if not please please please just delay it longer and fix them.. I rather wait a month or two longer then having to wait another year before they might be fixed.. :)

I can’t guarantee that all A16 bugs have been solved. A16 is old code and they are no longer working on anything that is based on A16. Some bugs slip through and some come back. During experimental it would be extremely helpful to test specifically for those bugs that you know and hate from A16 and report them in a calm manner. Hated, Wretched, Twigg, Unholy Joe and the rest of the Smurfs will be reading and trying to reproduce what you report so they can make a ticket and it can get fixed. The less frustration and emotion attached to your post the better. Answering their questions if they ask for clarification is important. Attaching screenshots or better yet linking to videos showing the bug are priceless and you’ll see action taken on those kinds of reports. Saying things like “These lazy devs took over a year and THIS is still an issue!?!!?” in the official bug thread is likely to get you banned and your post moved to off-topic and no action taken on your concern.

Once thousands of people are playing there WILL be issues that emerge. It doesn’t matter if it took a year or 10 years. Stuff will happen so it’s best to get the whole “It’s been a year and a half” vibe out of your system before reporting and giving feedback. It doesn’t matter how long it took.

I’m not just talking to you Necro. We have tons of new people who weren’t around during the last experimental and the bug report thread is very strict. Any offtopic posts earn an infraction and complaints and rants result in bans until experimental is over and we go stable. You can rant in general discussions or the regular A17 thread as long as you don’t get insulting but the experimental bug reporting thread is ONLY for legit reports following the guidelines that will be posted in that thread. That thread’s only purpose is to be helpful in getting A17e to A17.0 stable and unhelpful trash will be taken out.

Hey guys could someone answer this question. The main thing i have hated about this game is how laggy it feels, and performance issues, freezing and stuttering.

I just redownloaded this game just then on my 4ghz ryzen 1700 8 core cpu, 1080ti video card. 16gb ram and on my SSD. same deal, lowest or highest fps gives me like 35-50 fps and it feels like absolute trash to play. is this fixed or has performance increased a lot? i absolutely love the game and game play but the performance is a massive put off. thanks!

I have told all of our players and people I know IRL that it's coming in June, then July, then August...

I will be playing it, when it comes out. I can't say anyone I've talked to will. I am finished promoting this game.

You have burned bridges by not announcing when the game will be ready. You have burned time by creating these hooks for modders that given the release time could have been spent on better things.

I have on good authority that A17 is a dumpster fire and will not be released until 2019 so I will continue with that knowledge moving forward.

I could and will design a better game than this in the time it takes you to make beta.

Please do not respond to this post. It has been handled.

thanks, Roland

Your post about all of this stuff sent a chill down my spine!

It definitely is getting real! Thank you for the updates and information. I have never been a part of an experimental for this game and look forward to it very much.

Hi XEnt,

I am not one of the fun pimps devs, so i cannot answer this to the extent one of them can, however, I know one of the big reasons for fps drops for a16 for our players was the UMA textures, and V_Sync, once those were turned to low and the V_sync off, our players could then regain 60 plus fps.

Having said that, I know though reading mad moles comments, and some of the other dev comments in these forums, when they are talking about textures, how nice they look, etc, they are also referring to the memory problems they used to have. For example in MM's tweet he commented this

Joel Huenink

‏Sep 3

Thanks to solving our texture memory problems we can finally go HD and pbr on the textures.

In my opinion while most see "just another comment about textures" i see it as, Yay, they are working on textures, quality and optimization. I know due to working in the 3D Asset industry that Textures can be a huge, huge memory hog. The optimization of textures will make a massive difference to how smooth the game runs for all. I think you'll find that in a17, the issues you mentioned above, wont be such an issue any more, since they have mentioned they fixed and dealt with memory problems regarding textures.

Ofcourse textures are not the only cause of lag and bad fps, but I see it as one of the Major causes, and i am very glad for every post MM does that gives the hint that they are being worked on.

At what resolution?

My friend had a similar issue - he had a plenty powerful system but frame rate would often be as low as 10 and go up to as high as 100+.

Later discovered that in power settings on his computer the "balanced" profile was being used - after setting it to "high performance" (which forces CPU to run at max all the time) he had a normal frame rate.

Maybe check if your power profile is set to balanced as well.

so you had close to 10,000 bugs your saying ?

So you think all they have done in the ENTIRE A17 dev cycle is bug fix. No work on new features, new artwork? Nothing but bug fixes? Lol

Let me guess, Bloom.....lol

Like I said, I hope you'll be glad to be wrong but I'm going to give you extra time to work on your game without the distraction of posting here. Pretending to knowledge to add weight to your false claims is something we don't need. There is no good authority that exists that would say that. Interested to see your game in 2019 but you'll have to wait to tell us more about it.

I was wondering why he would want to play a game about dumpster fires? Do you race these dumpsters around or maybe throw them at each other?

I think he was giving the elevator pitch for HIS game. Not gonna lie....I'd play that.

Interesting. I'm running balanced (CPU min is 5%), but have not noticed an issue.

Hi guys. Really busy day today so I’ve had to serve myself up some ketchup.

A17 is going to be amazing. Some of the polishing up and refining of some of the features that just happened this week are complete game changers. The game may feel dead to a lot of people but we should codename this release as The Phoenix because once people watch the streamers and then get their hands on it and word gets out I have no doubt 7 Days will rise again higher than ever before. I just hope all of you who are naysaying and preaching doom will be glad to be wrong.

I’ll try switching to copying stuff over instead of moving. I just figured it was the once-a-weekers that were the ones complaining. If you are reading daily there should be zero difference. Everything up until 3 days ago is still in this thread. That quote from Madmole on the photos is from his twitter so the arrows don’t match up with anything. Sorry.

There are no official release dates. I tell the streamers it won’t be the next couple of weeks so they can plan for other content in case they’re not currently doing 7 Days to Die (you know, with it being dead and all). If they choose to “leak” that out then that creates unofficial reports of when it won’t be coming which is fine. I fine telling you it won’t be today nor next weekend either.

TFP does have an internal release date they are aiming for but I ain’t saying when that is. You could send me a million dollars and I would tell you in a second. But other than that know that it is for sure coming and it will be worth it and to survive you will have to rethink, restrategize, and adapt from what you previously knew. Soon you will be back at a fresh Day 1 and it’s going to be fantastic.

I am not a Doomer , I am a Yeah! sayer ;-)

Thx for the update....

I am we all wait and waiting is the hard part.

But 7 days is not dead!

Neebs gaming still runs:

@Roland, thank you for addressing my concern. I even found my password and logged in on my mobile just to say that, so it means a lot.

I've been reading this forum almost daily for 5 months, but there are times when it's just not possible due to RL constraints. I went to check everything and it was just frustrating and confusing. Anyway, I won't dwell on this any further and will just again thank you for copying instead of moving.
