I'd be curious to know whether this will represent the quality of the average block texture on high settings, or whether only a select few will warrant this resolution. Who knows, maybe this game will be GPU-bound instead of CPU-bound after all. ;)

Hopfully MM will continue to replace all of the SD quality textures with HD ones even after A17 drops.

That particular texture in the last screen posted by MM was 128x128 in A16.

Im going to guess its probably 512x512 A17.

I believe MM said the texel density was increased to 512px a face now.

Actually, Labour Day is the more international version. The first result is the page for Labor Day which, not surprisingly, is even more US-centric. :)

You're asking an American Company about the correct term for MayDay?

"The date was chosen by a pan-national organization of socialist and communist political parties to commemorate the Haymarket affair, which occurred in Chicago on 3-4 May 1886."

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_Workers%27_Day

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haymarket_affair

Shouldn't it be Laborers day anyway? Labor day makes it sound like it's a day for work, not the workers.

You mean "International workers day"?

I love how the wiki article you linked seems to imply that Labour Day is celebrated around the world under different names when it's International Workers Day that is celebrated by everyone. :-)

Apparently the idea of workers having a day to themselves sounded too socialist for the American Government at the time so they changed the name of a frikkin' international holiday.

Actually is called "day of work / labor / the working masses" here, depending on how you'd ethymologize the word.

mmm Wikipedia is wrong I see. We get written down as no labour day - we have labour day...but we labour on that day :p. It's not a holiday.

But if you wanna go "the rest/most of the world" (as per earlier post) you should celebrate it at May 1st :)

Why did it get moved to september in America btw?

Never heard it called that ever. Its still referred to as Labour Day in AUS.

When you catching up with the rest of the world and switching to metric?

Never obviously. England already caved partially, using km etc. - but maybe they'll revert after they finally Brexit (that as close as i'm gonna go to politics - its meant funny not as the start of a discussion :) )

I see no need to include pathfinding in the logic that CC is proposing. As long as the zombies remain out of sight to players, it doesn't matter how they get from point A to point B.

For argument sake, let's say players put up a giant border wall, with automated turrets along it. Again, as long as no one is watching, the system could determine the results of a zombie breakthrough or wipe out at it's leisure. It wouldn't have to be completed in real-time since no one is observing it.

How do you prevent zombies from spawning inside a base when the base covers all the active chunks? As I suggested previously, have them spawn in the radiation zone outside the playable area. Once a sleeper cell has been cleared, it stays cleared.

That might not work to well with horde night if you have bigger area's-> it's a timed event after all.

If you'd want to compensate then the horde would start assembling later or earlier based on your map size and then we have time sensitive zombies with GPS that know how to time their arrival with the night that allows them endless rage. (and theoretically one could drive toward them and kill them before they ever become the horde - cant do that if they dead.)

Might work for other things, but the horde night thing is a big thing.

Is good to see that a boss smiley face bug has not shown up.

Or "The Duke" Bug!

Lol, that actually manages to look somewhat threathening. Not bad for a smiley.

I thought MM Gameplay is not just one video event by at least a once a week event where MM show 10-20 minute of video by playing as bugs get fixed? I don't expect him to make video on sunday, but spend 30 minutes once a week to just play and show us the progress with his game skills :).

Actually we normally use feet and miles.

Though cars have kmh on them because that's what Ireland uses. I only know that because one of my ex bosses wanted to import an irish car as it was half the price of buying it in england, but would double his insurance cost due to that speed measurement. :)

I'm not asking any company about any term..

Oh, I see what happened. I said Labour Day is the more international version, which sounds like commentary on British versus American spelling. I should have said the Wikipedia page entitled Labour Day is the more international version, compared to the Wikipedia page entitled Labor Day. In any case, Wikipedia is not written by "an American company," and as for calling it Laborer's Day, I would talk to the person who decided to call it the labor movement instead of the laborer's movement. :peace:

No, no, no. You guys are ruining it. :p For this idea to go anywhere (and it probably won't, though I'm curious to hear faatal's thoughts on it), it should be dead simple. Just a point moving through space, just for wandering hordes, with a couple variables stored for how big & tough that horde is. No navigation, no collisions, no damage given or taken... no calculations before it's in range of a player. Then it's in no way worse than what we have now, and offers some important benefits.

I like this! It would make the world feel more alive and if it was a massive horde, you would actively evade them or try and lure them away if they were heading for your base!

I remember in an earlier alpha watching a wandering horde walk by my makeshift base. It was 2nd or 3rd day, I had bugger all weapons and I was hiding in the attic peering out the window as a stream of them walked by, partly enthralled and crapping myself at the same time!

Good times - thanks TFP :)

that was question about a17, if you read it. i only wanted to be clear.

I did read it. :) The programmer doesn't know if they're known bugs, either. Each programmer has their area of responsibility, so none of them know the state of every bug offhand. To answer you, they'd have to search through all the bug reports, the same way you say you "do not have time to read over all bugs posts." Except when the programmer does it, that means losing time that could be spent fixing bugs.

Most things players notice won't get fixed if there's no bug report made about them. So to get the results you and everyone really wants - for the bugs to be fixed - the best thing to do is to report the bugs you've found in the proper place, so that they get in the system, after making an effort to search if they've come up before.

Have a great honeymoon DeVega! We’ll kill a few extra Zeds on your behalf!

Thanks mate! Could you take over my nagging and being the forum grumpkin until I'm back? That would be appreciated around here.. ;)

A glass of water would be nice. :)

Water we have plenty enough over here!

For clarification; I'm from Europe, travelling to the US. So maybe I can bring some European refreshments to TFP in the US? Like.. Bratwurst?
