Pritch
Hey devs, thanks for staying invested in this game! Love this game. Quick question, will A17 improve on the jitter (frametime spikes) you get while running? Frametime, not fps. Since someone will ask, my PC can play this fine. Running on a I7 5820k CPU with a Titan X Pascal 48GB ram.

Xeen
I'm so ready for A17 for two reasons so I can play it but also see what's in the works for the A18 because I can't wait to see what the guys have in store for us in the future. It's exciting to think of the possibilities considering the current CPU war going on between Intel and AMD, we are going to see some monster CPU's coming out before the end of the year, next year and the foreseeable future. This war will impact the world of gaming on a level we haven't seen in a long time, cheaper, better, faster!
Xeen
My feeling is the 27th of August for A17-E. Any later and they might get a bad reputation, which might impact sales on their next game. If you go for Empyrion get the CV mod called Polaris. Its a beautiful ship but some things need tweaking. I think we are all at least a little bit disappointed about the delays at this point. I'm at the point now that I just want it to be over, we have been made to wait long enough.
KingSlayerGM
Guys, do you remember the level cap discussion we had a few days ago? Well, fallout 76 is going to have no level cap on the characters
BoxFullOfBoxes
I've literally checked this page every day since the beginning of July. I've never been this excited for a game update in my life lol. I want them to take as long as they need to & make this update just mind blowingly amazing. Sinz
Keep dreaming the current system is fine, this is the way mad mole wants the default experience to be and it is good there is reasons for it. just do what i do play the default experience and when you change a setting that is modding it from the original experience. they have forums and you can make your own website stating your settings etc etc, quit being lazy and put some real work in. i have no issues populating a modded server, it just takes time and some work to be put in. That's my Nickle EHHHH!! I do play default experience. And changing settings in the serverconfig.xml should be default experience, not "modded". I also have no issues populating a modded server, but like you said, it takes extra time and work. There is no need to be rude, please refrain from calling me lazy... Because you have no idea how much hard work I've done running servers. Populating a modded server should not require extra work and effort. Modded servers should not be segregated. It's not fair. Roland
Guys, do you remember the level cap discussion we had a few days ago? Well, fallout 76 is going to have no level cap on the characters Awesome. Sounds like there are now plenty of games to choose from for that style of gameplay. The Fun Pimps are free to give us an alternative experience with an emphasis on tough choices so that 7 Days to Die isn't just like all the rest. In other news, 7 Days to Die does not have a Battle Royale Last Man Standing Shrinking Battlefield component to it. But I bet there will be a new game this fall that will. In Fallout 4, players get hundreds of hours of gameplay while they're still at a level where all skill tree decisions are tough. It takes hundreds of hours to get to the point where you're able to spend points outside of your characters specialization and by that point they don't largely improve your performance anyway because specialization isn't as under powered as people fear it is. And tough decisions are made all throughout both games. They aren't limited to skill trees.

Sinz
I just had a cool idea about the new RWG and map loading in Alpha 17! Imagine loading up a RWG map at default size, 8km sq, or bigger. BUT! With Nevazgane in the middle!!!!! And the RWG roads hook up to the roads at the extends of Nevazgane! Nevazgane with RWG beyond it's boarders! Although from what I've read, this may be possible with the new world editing tools of Alpha 17.

Sinz
This. I honestly believe that TFP will raise the level cap and re-balance the curve of the rate leveling in a later alpha.

Sinz
I'm wondering if Fallout 76 will be another Rust. Or are there PvP and PvE zones? There are small PVE Restricted zone and there are limitations on un-consented PVP. But lets keep the topic on A17?
Aldranon
I honestly believe that TFP will raise the level cap and re-balance the curve of the rate leveling in a later alpha. With the level cap, I don't think so, because the logic is with them: Even the "Renaissance Men" throughout history were not masters at everything. Edit: They might adjust progression though. Aldranon
They're trying to make a game, not a simulator. There are so many other elements that compromise realism for gameplay. Yes they are making a game, but good games cant be too easy ether. With magic (or advanced science) added, what else can TFP add? One of my theories is your character is not really "Human", you were manufactured, at great cost, to be immune to the virus, stronger, smarter and are currently undergoing testing. Why else would an airplane keep dropping irreplaceable equipment to you? For the player, it really IS Day 1.
Roland
Yeah Roland. BUT! In Fallout 4, players get hundreds of hours of gameplay while they're still at a level where all skill tree decisions are tough. Okay. But I still argue that it is the foreknowledge that you CANNOT get everything that makes the decision tough. It's like an option in the game that forces Dead is Dead. Knowing that if you die the game will reset and you lose it all makes choosing to enter risky situations a much more thrilling and tougher decision. The difference between knowing you get one life vs knowing you could respawn if you want is what gives life to the choices the player makes to put themselves at risk. I submit the same is true of choosing the next skill or perk for your progression. Knowing that once you spend that point you have effectively put something else forever out of reach changes your thought process and the gravity of the choice. It takes hundreds of hours to get to the point where you're able to spend points outside of your characters specialization and by that point they don't largely improve your performance anyway because specialization isn't as under powered as people fear it is. I agree-- especially in regards to 7 Days to Die. You will not be under-powered as a specialized player even in single player. Nobody needs fear specialization in this game as even without any skills or perks your character is quite capable. And tough decisions are made all throughout both games. They aren't limited to skill trees. I don't want tough choices limited to skill trees. I want them inclusive of skill trees. But this is neither here nor there. It is easily moddable. Increasing the level cap is a single edit. Change the number 200 into an 800 and you too can purchase skills and perks after hundreds of hours of playing when they are effectively pointless and useless to get that Fallout experience. <shrug> Doesn't affect me. I want you to play however you want if that is what is fun for you.

It's like an option in the game that forces Dead is Dead. [snip] Hi Roland, Speaking about the Dead = Dead mode. I remember vaguely some discussion back in the beginning of the development of A17 (when dinosaurs roamed the earth) that such a dead=dead mode might be implemented. Any word on that? I know one can do that him/herself, but it's better if the choice (or lack thereof) is forced upon you.
