[UI] Zompact Overhaul [A15]

DUST2DEATH

Recommended Posts

Thank you, that does basically work, just one issue. As you can see on this photograph, discarded buffs disappear floating upwards. And it does not look as pretty as here, it is a somewhat distorted animation:

Is there a way to have the icons just disappear without an animation or sink downwards?

The XML-files are here; I think that xui and styles should be vanilla:

Honestly, Its not something I thought to much about as it doesnt bother me.

I'll play around if I have time and see I can alter the falloff.

Looking good. :)

If you make the zompact_flattheme color variable transparent it will turn all the grey off without having to do anything else.

Set it to either [transparent] or 0,0,0,0 depending on your preference.

Merry Christmas

you need to change the width of this texture. also reposition to match.

<texture name="zompactItempagiBackground" depth="2" size="400,60" texture="[zompact_craftlistpagibg]" material="Materials/Transparent Colored" pos="0,-410" />

Not sure why you are having problems with the windows.

Vehicle preview window is left over (forgot to remove) and isnt used.

I dont use windowOutput, you have brought this in from somewhere else.

The valmod windows in my valmod files begin at line 2280 of windows.xml

All I can think of is you missed/didnt close out something when patching your mod from mine.

Hey DUST. Love the UI, but I was hoping you could help me figure out an error I'm getting, and how to change the "layer" of a menu so it doesn't drop behind my inventory screen.

1) I'm using the Valmod version, which I've manually copied some of the sizing fixes from the 100+ backpack fix into. Mostly just offset a bunch of stuff by 125, which is working well. I figure I've missed something simple though, because when I assemble something the list (e.g. like gun parts -> gun, silenced gun, gun 2, silenced gun 2) is in the layer behind my backpack/inventory so it cannot be seen except for the first 2 options.

If I can find this 'fix' myself in your 100+ backpack files, just say so and I'll go back through everything again. ;)

2) This one happens no matter what else I'm doing. I tried with absolutely stock files out of your Valmod version, no backpack changes or DLLs, etc. If I have enough map points saved that it should add a scroll bar, instead something bleeds into the main hud (not map screen) center and mousing over them causes constant red console text. As soon as I delete some so it fits on one screen, no more errors.

The log output is always something like this:

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
 at XUiC_MapArea.ICD (.Waypoint ) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
 at XUiC_MapArea.ACD (System.Collections.Generic.List`1 , Boolean ) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
 at XUiC_MapArea.updateMapObjects () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
 at XUiC_MapArea.Update (Single _dt) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
 at XUiController.Update (Single _dt) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
 at XUiController.Update (Single _dt) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
 at XUi.Update () [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0

(Filename:  Line: -1)

Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

1) what size backpack are you trying to use?. The UI will support up to 90 slots without you moving anything (set the grid rows/columns in styles.xml, adjust loot.xml as required).

If you are trying to use 100 slots or higher from Stallionsden the 100-200 slot patch just moves all the windows 100px higher.

2). This is probably the player positions on HUD. (I have to continually remind myself not everyone knows everything) which was a request to be added. It has known issues with waypoints.

If you open xui.xml and comment out this, line 90 (compass group)

<window name="HUDplayercoords1" />  <!-- Player Coords // 1. Center 2. RightTop 3. LeftTop -->

so it looks like

<!--  <window name="HUDplayercoords1" />  Player Coords // 1. Center 2. RightTop 3. LeftTop -->

And the issue should go away. If it persists, please advise.

Hey I was wondering if there was a version of this for Valmod Overhaul Big Backpack?

I've looked at making the changes via xml customizing but it looks frustrating to me, i've done such a thing before but trying to figure out which goes where between the two xmls is confusing me.

Hey I was wondering if there was a version of this for Valmod Overhaul Big Backpack?

I've looked at making the changes via xml customizing but it looks frustrating to me, i've done such a thing before but trying to figure out which goes where between the two xmls is confusing me.

only in the FULL version.

Install valmod.

Install the bigger backpack DLL.

Install zompact valmod over the top.

Open Styles.xml

<style_entry name="zompact_backpackrows" value="2"/><!-- Backpack item grid rows --><!-- Vanilla value: 4 -->
<style_entry name="zompact_backpackcolumns" value="16"/><!-- Backpack item grid columns --><!-- Vanilla value: 8 -->

Adjust those 2 values:

rows 3

cols 15

<style_entry name="zompact_lootrows" value="10"/><!-- Loot item grid rows --><!-- Vanilla value: 10 is maximum size leave at 10-->
<style_entry name="zompact_lootcolumns" value="9"/><!-- Loot item grid columns --><!-- Vanilla value: 9 increase to (total inventory spaces)+18= divide by 10 round up over is ok -->
<!-- must adjust in loot.xml find player dropped backpacks (5,10) must match loot window or you will lose items on death-->
<!-- adjusted csharp file must be installed for all bag size increases or items will be lost.-->

adjust those 2 values as required.

open loot.xml and find player dropped backpacks and make the values match what you set for lootrows/cols.

That is it!

Well, here's my thing. A lot of the info is missing from the bottom of the screen. I can't see my health, stamina, fullness, or thirst, and my buffs are only visible in the character screen. Also the windows look a bit high (though I read from an earlier post that adding more backpack slots raises the window).

I've installed the 200 slot dll file from the backpack expansion, but only changed the actual slots in the windows.xml to 16x8. Is that the part that screwed it up?

what is your resolution?

When you adjusted you changed the values in styles.xml, not windows.xml correct?

<style_entry name="zompact_backpackrows" value="2"/><!-- Backpack item grid rows --><!-- Vanilla value: 4 -->
<style_entry name="zompact_backpackcolumns" value="16"/><!-- Backpack item grid columns --><!-- Vanilla value: 8 -->
<style_entry name="zompact_backpackwindowwidth" value="1008"/><!-- Backpack window width Base Value: 1008 Add (X) for each column over 16-->
<style_entry name="zompact_backpackwindowheight" value="150"/><!-- Backpack window height Base Value: 150 Add (X) for each row over (Y)-->

I typically play with 1366x768 resolution.

I had changed the windows.xml initially, but I've reinstalled it to fix it, and also reinstalled the styles.xml from the Diablo theme and changed the backpack rows there instead. The menu moved down to where it should be, but the health/stamina/fullness/hydration/buffs etc. info is still missing from the bottom of the screen.
