Bill Gold
Possible MD5 issue Hey everyone, new gamer 7 days to die console player. I was playing the other day and found an issue. While I was riding the minibike, the change page notification at the top left would come on. When I got off the minibike, go into the crafting menu, out of the crafting menu and back on the minibike it disappeared for a bit. This happened 3 different times. Soon after that the road ended and I couldn't go anymore. With a dog horde on my butt of course. I had to reset the game and get pummeled by the dogs to get going again. This could be related to the MD5 error, or maybe not. I don't know. There isn't a lot of video from console players so maybe this will help. Here is the link to the video. Bill Gold
Also, there was no base resets but I have not built bases near POI's I have had 2 MD5 rewrites playing single player games and this was consistent with what happened before those rewrites. chinowith
I experienced my 2nd massive home base reset last night. Last time was day 70 in a prefab, game crashed as it does all the time but this time it reset everything inside my house but left all the outdoor items and blocks there. Last night on Day 39, 1100 kills, level 83, i had built my home base on the roof of a prefab to avoid the reset item loss during a crash and MD5 error but it still got me. I lost every single item I have collected aince day 1 except for the tools that were on my player. This is ridiculous, I deleted the game, let me know when this will never happen again so I can enjoy playing again. I love the game.
MT317
It's Oct 2018 and I just had this error on my Xbox One. Could the development team confirm that they are actually still trying to fix this error? This game is amazing but I'm very hesitant to play it knowing all my work can be reset at anytime. MrSmirkNMerc
Wow. I thought I’d look into this forum hoping that the developers made some progress with the MD5 bug, but I see two years later no progress has been made. In that amount of time you should have been able to rewrite the game from scratch the right way. This is pathetic. And I don’t want to hear any bull blaming the Xbox for this problem. How are other games able to save progress without this type of bug then? The answer is they aren’t incompetent. Seriously how are your actions any different than scam artists that just take the money and run?
Mattice86
Today i experienced the MD5 issue and it completely wiped out my base and i lost all of my storage. I started to do research and to find out that this has been an issue since 2016 is ridiculous! I havent tried the unofficial work around yet but this issue really needs to be fixed. How can you expect people to want to continue playing with a huge bug like this one. I was on day 101 and all i was doing was going into my storage boxes to add items to my inventory so that i could craft. Hope this helps fix the problem because up until now this was my favorite game!!!!

Hope this helps fix the problem because up until now this was my favorite game!!!! Firstly, let me say that the problem you have experienced is one many of us have. The MD5 has been around since I started this game and up until October I still held out hope that the team would find a fix. That hope died with the death of Telltale Games, who own the publishing rights. When that happened, any chance for future updates/fixes died with them. There is talk about TFP trying to regain the rights, but that is little more than talk at this point. As to the "work arounds" they do work. First, keep your in game time to less than 90 minutes without completely logging out. Second, if you do get "kicked" immediately delete your local save and resync from online. The exact process is posted somewhere here in the forum. I really love this game, but it isn't as much fun going it alone, and few people still play the xbox version because of the MD5. Good luck!
