herrpohl
I will update the OP tomorrow (nighttime here) with what we have found to make some sort of basic instructions.
Magoli
I kinda already do this in Hal's editor, but my project was going to be to terra form Nav into a new map... it's tedious to do it as a prefab, then have to find the exact new spot and insert it, and I know it's a lot to ask considering you just found this gem, but if you could find a way to get it to save region files, that would be fantastic. It would be great to use this to create other new static worlds instead of Navezgane. Kinda DLC-maps Oh - and the regionfiles are not the files the game loads in beginning of a new game ! hightmap and texturing(coloring) are static files somewhere (like herrpohl meantioned already) We gotta have the ability to modify and safe these basic-files somehow. Then we are able to create different Navezganes. That would be very cool. The Prefabs-locations are static in Navezgane too. They are saved in GAMEFOLDER\data\worlds\Navezgane\prefabs.xml Setting new Prefabs and modify their location: Thats the easiest part of the project. Its all about the terrain, roads, waters !!! Thx herrpohl for sharing this cool secret to us.

Sorrowthief
What is really cool is you can create a new prefab and set it exactlly where you want it then save the prefab position and it writes all the info in the prefab xml for navz map. Really cool

Sorrowthief
Anyone figure out what copy to clipboard does and is used for? Also under terrain tool. There are 3 red brushes at the top. From left to right this is what I've learned. The left one is mainly for raise lower terrain. You can change the scale to 1 or higher like 9 for big size brush. The hardness seems to be like how much it digs in. I found that if I was working with stone I needed to turn hardness up more to dig in. Flow seems to be how often it updates the click when held. Fast slow rather. The second brush seems to be more for the top layer as in clearing grass. I cant get the third brush to do anything..? If you select a large one block high area and then hit ESC key there is a button there called Rmd decoration Sel. While you have a block on your tool belt and at the ready you can hit this button to place a large quantity of random boo is spread out. I believe its meant for placing grass. herrpohl
OK, I figured out how to save the changed terrain of the Nav map! You have to unselect 'Decorations' in the dm menu. Any terraforming now will be saved permanently to the region files located Data/Worlds/Navezgane/Region. So making a custom map is entirely possible. Do you know if you can make it bigger? like remove the radiation area and add land to the borders? I'm not sure, I know they are at the maximum terrain size that Unity can create from a dtm but I don't know if you can add region files to the map. Zip the .rg files and users overwrite theirs? It sounds like its permanent and u just pack it in as an entire mod or have users install the worlds/navz folder would seem easiest way.
