Xtrakicking
I'm having problems with a perk that keeps reseting everytime I buy it. Since I've wasted 20 XP points already in that perk, could anyone tell me if there is a comand in the console to earn the XP you want at all times? I remember there was a comand to go up the level you wanted, but there should be a code to do that with XP points.
OzHawkeye
I don't know about the console, but you could edit your player file to increase the amount of available XP points your character currently has.

mikroorganismus
On a sidenote: Why not name it? Talking about quality joe? I had the same problem. Purchasing all 3 levels of that skill fixed it. Doesn't reset anymore Edit: actually wanted to mention that i've read this here somewhere, didn't came up with this myself. No idea how i forgot this, must be getting late
stallionsden
in console - giveselfxp **** where * is a number or go into progression and look for this - <player max_level="200" exp_to_level="2000" experience_multiplier="1.02" skill_points_per_level="500" change this to what number you like skill_point_multiplier="1.0482"/> <skills max_level="100" exp_to_level="250" experience_multiplier="1.02" skill_point_cost_multiplier="1"> <!--USAGE SKILLS--> So when you change this number every time you level up you get that amount of xp

The giveself"skill" is not present giveselfxp **** then lets you add your skill points to that skill so say giveeself 300 you could raise your archery by like 10 ish levels PS: not arguing with you lol just didnt see it when looking at the commands

I use these to take care of bugs, for example when they reset. i dont want to level all the way up just fix the error. oh well

Xtrakicking
As a workaround, what I did was lower the amount of skill points the Quality Joe perk costs from 10 to 0. Now it looks like it won't reset anymore finally, it's at level 2. That way I can keep my skill points intact and just raise the perk with no costs. Thanks everybody who answered
OzHawkeye
FYI, though it looks like there's a better solution, but to answer Xtra's and Juper0's question: \users\user\appdata\roaming\7daystodie\saves\(randomgen/navazgane)\(gamename)\(steamid).ttp file is the player file. You'll need a hex editor to make amendments to it. It stores all the players info.
rentechd
Right now a good work around maybe just waiting until you have enough points to give yourself all 3 points in the QJ perk. At least for me, and it seems anyone who tried it, it does not reset if you have the 3 points. Not sure if giving 2 will cause it to stick or reset but after losing my QJ perk 3 times I got upset with the issue and gave myself the xp to get the points back (hatted that as it also gave me a level I did not earn) but I was able to get the 3 points and so far its held through several logout and ons. Quicksilver
I am an admin and have a player that hit a glitch that added 232 to his death count and he is mid-level and does not want to wipe his character. I promised to help him but having a hard time trying to figure out how to work with the .ttp file with the hex editor. I program in a couple languages and have done modding but I don't know Hex at all. Could you point me in the right direction to learn what I need to know to fix this issue? I'm looking at the hex editor window and it looks like jibberish to me do I need to learn Hex to do this?
Karlovsky120
I'm in a process of making a player editor for 7dtd, but it's gonna take me sometime to make it functional. However, I can use what I have of it to find the deathcount in your save file and change it to whatever you wish. You can contact me via PM and I'll give you an email to send it to. Or you can upload it somewhere for me to download. Just tell me what you want me to set to what exactly. I might also be able to set QJ to a level you want, but I haven't reached that part of the file yet. I be able to read the whole thing in a few days though. Quicksilver
That is a nice offer and I appreciate it. Unfortunately I am an admin on the server but not the owner. The owner said that if I can prove proof of concept on the test server. I can edit the .ttp on the main server but removing the .ttp for someone else to edit will not be allowed. I asked. Also, I am trying to learn how to do this myself so that I can support other issues in the future and show the owner that I am a valuable addition to the team . I'm starting to study C# and Unity 5 but I am not sure how to even begin parsing the .ttp file. I will muddle through eventually as time allows but I am unsure where to start and each day I take, a player suffers. PS: sorry to hi-jack the post
Karlovsky120
The thing is that game often stores lists and arrays of data in the ttp file. The thing with lists arrays is that they can be of various sizes. That means that most of the data in the tpp doesn't have a definitive index but can be closer or farther to the start of the file depending on the aforementioned lists (and arrays). My programs reads the file sequentally so it know where to find what. While you could manually try following the code and find out where death count is stored that way, it would be a very long process, not to mention that with one mistake everything is wrong. If you really want do that , start with save method of PlayerDataFile class. But doing what you want without a program is nearly impossible. If the reasons for not giving me the file to edit are me tampering with other things and not actually sharing the file you can use a hex editor and have it highlight the diferences between the original and edited file. The only difference should be up to 4 bytes. Also, if you send me the file, I can read it and just tell you what to edit so you can do it yourself. Undead_Commander
How do you go into the menu called 'Progression'? How do I go into the menu called progression and edit the max level to a high enough level that i can give myself enough experience to max out every skill? I lost my survival world and character with max skills but when I'm in creative mode and I say 'giveselfxp #' My level will only go 200 which stops me from being able to max out every skill.... I just want to give myself max stats in creative mode because I lost all my saved data from before. Just let me know how to get into the 'progression' menu listed above so that I can increase the max level for my creative mode world. Thanks.
