AnvilFu
Rather than have blocks catastrophically (and unexpectedly) fail when they exceed the structural integrity limits, introduce audible and visual indicators that you are reaching failure. i.e When someone walks on the last "safe" block it makes a soft cracking or groaning sound. Even better: When block is added beyond "safe" it takes some damage immediately and more when walked on or anytime an additional block is added past the "failure point" (with sharp audible cracking / snapping effects). When the damage is enough, the block is destroyed and everything depending on it collapses.
cleio81
+1 for this idea. I hate having to keep looking up the stability lengths of blocks online.
Grog Grueslayer
Great idea. It's a horrible feeling when everything collapses with no warning at all.
Zvex
+1 ... could be also a message "this place looks fragile, be careful"
pharen
That would be nice. It's trial and error for blocks at the moment.

Omega
Its a good idea, having a building collapse is a right royal pain, even in creative mode. A creaking sound and a visual clue as to which bit is unsafe.
