A16 Valmod Pack

Valmar

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone

Nice mod Valmar, great job really.

I'm trying to install Valmod on Mac Os X for a friend, i have read the install instructions from this post.

I did manage to get the job done on 16.2 without the smx interface (health/stamina bar, etc..) and it's working. I think i can get the thing working maybe with backpack too even if i'm not really a mac user ...

I have an Imac at my office (running on Windows ^^), i can take sometimes there to achieve the thing but it's really easier to prepare it on windows. Mac users are not used to do this kind of thing (not everyone of course) since MacOS is designed to get everything "ready to use" for you.

If i succeed, i can do a proper tutorial in english/french.

If other people wants to help me or give me advice, i'm interested.

Good day Valmar

I said something about this a while back and I was wondering if it is still possible ... Is there a chance that we could have a scope for the AK with silencer.

Just a thought and Enjoy the weekend

It should still be possible, though the process is a tad wonky. Anyone who has ever used the High-Powered Scoped Sniper should know what I mean.

Still, I might add it in at some point.

We installed the expansion pack tonight and it's awesome! My friend plays on a Mac, and she has no descriptions for any of the recipes, though, and they're showing up weird, like baconeggsandwich and drinkhealth. No worries if you don't have time to worry about a minor issue like this, but just wanted to throw it out there. Thanks for making such a fantastic modpack!

Mac for as long as I've been here has been a strange and elusive beast when it comes to modding, carrying its own unique quirks and oddities that I don't understand. Since I don't have a Mac myself Im not able to really work on any of its issues, unfortunately.

I'm having the same issue as Wolves Hero with the minibike storage. I've tried several different game resolutions and windowed mode, but it's default size for me. I saw someone else say you can still click things in and just sort to get it out but I can't do that either.

Don't know if it helps but I'm on Windows 10, GTX 980 Ti, 1600 x 900 resolution. If you need any other info to trouble shoot let me know. And thank you again for the quick fix of the earlier issues, sorry to bring up more >.<

Overhaul or Expansion?

Try taking the minibike completely apart then rebuilding it - that sometimes helps.

Few people on the Overhaul server I'm playing on are experiencing their round crafting being locked out, while my own round crafting is not. Wondering if anyone else is experiencing this, or has seen it before and knows of a fix without restarting the server. :upset:

This bug can happen if the player does not have the mod installed locally. They need to have the same version of the mod that the server uses (expansion or overhaul) installed locally.

Valmar, Would it be at all possible to mod the working Oven and maybe the working Sink to require electricity to work? Or is that an impossible task to mod?

Loving this mod since first trying in A14, lots of encouragement from me and my friends! You're keeping the game fun!

Honestly I'm not sure if that is possible as I never tinkered with the electricity. I somehow doubt it since from what little I've seen it appears to only turn things from an "off" to "on" state. Whereass the oven would have to be changed from a workstation to a non-workstation. I really doubt it would be able to do that. Though again I haven't really tried either since I haven't had the time to experiment.

Hola Valmar ! thanks again for the extended mod, it's starting to look really well polished ! :)

i am currently modding some stuff and came around noticing that for your Extended Mod you are missing quite a few icons:

Nailgun Schematic (not sure if just base game or your mod)
electric toolkit
assorted dyes
survivors combination
axejason & machete jason (probly on purpose i think right ?)
lightbulb
questitem (id 2700)
spraycan

i think that's it for now :)

Most of those are not something the player can actually acquire without using the cheat menu. Thus the icons are not important. However I did forget about the survivor combination so I will definitely add that back in. Thank you.

we are using the bigger back mod with the overhaul, we installed it through the servers mod manager, its version 5.25 newest i think but we are still having an issue of out last 13 slots of inventory vanishing when we log off its been happening for awhile just never really noticed it anyone have a fix for this ? we loaded overhaul first then the backpack as the instructions, said i myself have it on my pc too not sure if it is needed on multi player but it still keeps happening

Only two things I can think of that cause this.

1. You need to start a new map or reset the player profiles, since the player has to have joined the server after it was already modified with the bigger backpack. They might need to also have it installed locally first aswell but Im not fully certain on that aspect.

2. Perhaps the server does not allow you to modify the assemblycsharp file. Gameservers, for example, doesn't let you but also doesn't make it obvious that it rejected so its easy to think you installed it when really it denied it.

hi there.

got a noob guestion..

but the 7 days to die launcher,,, does that allways use the latest version of valmod ?

just started a new game using "valmod overhaul combo pack." looks like it works ok but got some nasty "POI faults"

and i get WAY to much good loot..

but back to original question,, is this the latest build ??

cheers

Canadus

No, if you want the latest version you have to manually download and install it. You can follow the Valmod steam group if you want to be kept notified of latest updates.

POI's and random-gen worlds are vanilla in Valmod. As in, I do not touch them at all. Any oddities or quirks you run into that relate to that are vanilla issues and outside of my control since I purposely avoid messing in that area.

I noticed under progression, with miner 69er perk, there's now a mechanical level 1 requirement in addition to the mining tools level one requirement. In the Alpha 15 Overhaul, the Miner69er perk only had the requirement perk level 1 for mining tools.

Is there anything significant to this?

For reference...

<perk name="Miner 69er" icon="mining" description_key="miner69erDesc" title_key="miner69er" max_level="5" skill_point_cost_multiplier="1.43" skill_point_cost_per_level="5" group="tools">

<requirement perk_level="1" required_skill_name="Mining Tools" required_skill_level="1"/>

<requirement perk_level="1" required_skill_name="Mechanical" required_skill_level="1"/>

Also Run Forest Run perk is gone. Is that perk conflicting with something? Is it safe for me to add it back in?

Expansion. I've tried taking it apart and building new bikes, I also tried it in a new world as well with same result. If it helps I don't play from my steam folder either because I've seen some people saying that's been causing issues, I just have a separate install with Valmod Expansion.

Edit: Just tried putting the expansion on my default install of 7 days and doesn't work there either.

Hi Valmar,

I am loving the current overhaul playthrough so far.

Can you consider adding a block/recipe like what is described in this thread: Junction Box Block These blocks work to hide the wiring going to and from them inside a base.

I would love to see one or both styles implemented in your mod, with maybe some more complex resources like insulators or relays and maybe lock the recipes behind a new "Electrician" class that starts with some electrical recipes/perks and a wire tool

Same, always thought the launcher downloaded the latest version. It checks and loads from the same source each time you start the game. Else why am I using it ????????

I am confused now.

I guess Val has to upload his versions to a specific location for it to work.

not only does the launcher not load the latest mod but it does not load the latest update to the game. everything has to be done manually if you have it in a non steam location.

Auto Wall Code

First I take NO credit for this code! Wanted to share Auto Wall code that I found in one of the many mods (I think I found it in Bad Company Mod). I have tested all of the blocks and they work! This is nice to have for admins building Players City's.

Which Config in the Launcher isn't downloading the latest version? All the links are pointing to the same location as the Steam Posting.

Thats what I thought.

Launcher is downloading from : https://github.com/7days2mod/Valmod-Overhaul/archive/master.zip

Recent comments in 'Mod Launcher' states Valmod was upgraded to 5.25, I downloaded manually as well to compare but in the download I can not find any indication as to build version.

So confirming 100% can I continue to use 'Mod Launcher' or start down loading updates manually ?

Thanks..

Theoretically, yes. I heard Github was having problems yesterday and the day before; maybe something happened there.

But yes, the download is pointing to the same location.

I did the overhaul pack, but of course you need to make a copy or download from stream the lastest game files. i was using 16.3 b1 and kept wondering why everyone was talking about b3. the launcher does not update the game files. i had to make a new game location update my main steam game then copy it over to get b3. way to much trouble for just trying to update the game.

I started with 16.3 B3 and when I use the Mod Launcher and loaded the Valmod Overhaul it makes my game 16.2.

Is it supposed to do that, though I do know Valmod is for 16.2 only so makes sense.

PS, thanks sphereii

Once the Mod Launcher makes a copy, it won't update the base version of the game. It's meant to isolate your game from steam's auto-update.

It also makes a copy of your Steam version, with no assumption that it's actually correct. Otherwise, the Mod Launcher would have to track each mod more closely to figure out what it's compatible with.

Also, if you have made some custom changes that you want to carry forward, that the mod doesn't over-write, then it may be something you want.

I use SIMPLE mode..

Doesn't that deploy the mod(s) into the existing copy of 7 Days To Die.. *scratches head* ?

(great mod btw Sphereii)

A bit OT but indeed it would be nice if there is clear option in mod laucher to choose source of 7dtd install dir and destination dir where to copy on same screen where you choose what mod you like to install :)

I never remember those when trying out some mods.

I made the level 200 skill cap 16.2 mod compatible with Valmod 16.2. Thanks to Valmar and Shang73 for providing the original script, I just meshed it together. For those of you who have more survivor notes and skill points than you know what to do with:

Hello,

I've just installed overhaul and I can't seem to figure out how to craft the bow? It says I need to unlock it using a skill point but I can't find which one it is locked behind.

I believe you need to apply I think 20 points into archery. Something like that anyways.

On page 1 you find a spoiler: class system. There is a link where you can find such information.
