What does actually mean when I look into our newly restarted random gen server?

Take a look at your server configuration, in particular:

I'm guessing that is a bit messed up. Note, in your log, the weird "/S aves/" in your path.

I am appreciate on your work on this mod.

 

There is one question that I wish to ask.

 

Is there a way that I can create a multiplayer world save, with random gen maps, with my friends only.

 

As I saw the servers on the page 1, do those include other players as well? coz I wish to play a mod with my friends in it only.

Yeah, sure. Just install the mod like usual and have your friends do the same. Then one of you will make a new game set to MP Survival, lock it with a password only your friends know and have them all join. Whoever has the best internet connection should probably be the one to host it.

 

Or am I misunderstanding the question?

Valmar, thanks for this awesome mod! I'm giving it a whirl this round on my dedi. I have a question though. I chose not to use the enhanced backpack. If a client tries to use it and join the server, will they get the enhanced backpack? I want neither anyone to have an unfair advantage nor get troubles with EAC.

i can't craft secure wooden doors and wooden bows, both are locked behind things you need to learn about.

 

thats the fast version, this is the long version

so me and a friend found this mod and installed it, in vanille there was no problem crafting things. in the mod however, i can't craft doors or bows, the only time i could craft a bow was finding a book about it, but it inhibits the quest completion doing it that way and the door problem only enhances that problem because you cant create a safe place to stay. my friend who hosts the server can craft whatever he wants while me and my other friend cant. i even went into single player and chose the same class he did but couldnt build the door. is this just a random chance not being able to through a book or something? or is it an actual bug?

They'd only have it if the server has. The server wouldn't even let them join if they try to use the bigger backpack since it has EAC protection. Either way you dont have to worry, everyone will have equal inventory space.

Traders not opening

 

Has anyone notices the traders not being open at any time while using this mod?

 

Have been using this wonderful mod for a while now, on several severs we are using. initial time I went to the trader (random map) the trader was open and worked fine.

 

Today when i went there , game time is 9:15 and again at 11:40 the trader door is open (house door) but the open gate sign is not lit, and the gate is locked.

 

No zombies in the area.

 

running overhaul and bigger backpacks, setup to run mp and on local client as well.

where to find wet stones

 

where or how do i craft a whetstone? its a required component for crafting the hunting knife but i have no whetstones, cant find a crafting recipe for whetstones, and have not found any whetstones as loot anywhere in the game so far.

 

I have been getting wet stones while mining, mainly below surface, not the rock above ground.

This has been popping up randomly and the only way to stop the infinity null ref is to delete the serveradmin file and I can play for a little longer then it pops up again. I have the Valmod with expanded backpack and horde mod with the combopack installed. Anyone know what is happening?

screen caps are impossible to read, you are better of pasting the error from the /7DaysToDie_Data/output_log.txt file (usually has more info as well)

 

Looks like you might have had a wandering horde spawning, if there's an entity in there with the EntityNPC class it could be the cause.

Sounds like you're using the Valmod Overhaul which gates a lot more crafting to make the game more of a challenge early on.

To craft wooden frames, you need to up your carpentry skills to level 10 or something, I did mine by spamming log cabin blocks. Lol

 

Try the Valmod Expansion , it's closer to vanilla, but with loads of added goodies. :)

 

This is the one I prefer, as I don't get enough time to do the longer version.

Yeah you can do that. Click the friend as he is in the game and select "join game" in steam. Or you can go to the in-game server listing and click on the "friends" tab to see if you can spot his server there.

You cannot craft whetstone. You get it from mining stone or boulders.

Pretty sure this is just a vanilla bug that occurs. I've heard similar stories about vanilla.

According to your output log you're items.xml is missing a zombie hand. Were you using the Horde Edition? By chance? Either way , redownload the mod and reinstall it to ensure you're not missing anything.

There is Valmod Overhaul and Valmod Expansion. Overhaul locks many recipes behind skills/perks. Expansion pack does not. It sounds like maybe your server has Valmod Expansion pack installed but you installed Overhaul instead of Expansion pack, so its telling you these things are locked even though they aren't on the server.

 

In the top right corner of the game the UI has a little purple hat. Overlaying the hat is the version number.

 

Does it say VME (Valmod Expansion) or does it say VMO (Valmod Overhaul)..

sorry to ask but...

 

Do I need to use the server .dll if I run a Local Multiplayer Game ?

Sorry if the question was asked before couldn´t find an answer.

At the moment I´m using the local .dll as my friends who loose the first row in the inventory every time the log in and out :/

The f act that you can play at all must meant that you don't need the server one if its a local multiplayer game. If you use the "wrong one" the game wont load, period.

 

The friends are probably losing their inventory because they did not install the bigger backpack locally. Everyone needs to have it.

Because you're playing Valmod Expansion pack. The Armory is not used in the expansion pack.

 

Those are unique quest items used in unique fetch quests. You can either sell them to the vendor or save them for when you find the quest that calls for them to get more reward.

NullReferenceException errors

 

We just built our first mini bike then had to log for an hour we restarted server and now we are getting a bunch of errors.

 

NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object

I went back out side to where the bikes were parked and all of them are gone also.

 

Now when i try to open anything i get console opening with same error in it.

 

also listing invalid hash in a lot of files

Odd, haven't heard of any minibike errors like that. Could be a vanilla issue. Know of a way to reproduce it?

 

Also the invalid hash thing is harmless - it just means you're not using vanilla files. Which is a given, since its modded.
