newbie9555 Posted October 19 Share Posted October 19 I bought a dedicated server so we can all play and not need to have someone always online, but he cannot join, my other friend can without problems. He always gets stuck at "Starting Game" so the last moment. We other already could see him standing there, could even kill him, it gave EXP but he didn't really died, he did still stand there. He already deleted all his 7 Days to Die savegames and everything. I deleted his playerinfo that are always 3 documents, ending with .map, ttp and ttp.bak and he still had the same problem. I don't know how to get him on the server, the last thing that i tried was to delete his profile to give it later back to him but even this didn't solved the problem. Its like the server hates him. Make sure your friend has firewall/antivirus exceptions and have him turn on the Network Workaround option in the General settings section, those may help. This game cares about data stability and uses a lot more than typical game, there may be an issue on his end that never showed up until now. Something weird is going on there, I see it's complaining about invalid blocks being used in a POI, perhaps that's an old world or custom poi removal or something (although this shouldn't be causing this) . But I'm not seeing anything nuts. I wonder, is there anything in your friends log when he is hanging in the join screen? Jugginator Posted October 20 Share Posted October 20 No problem, just for a test (a log file from him would be helpful too), remove the drones.dat file (place it somewhere safe, if you want collect and pick any drones up beforehand). newbie9555 Posted October 20 Author Share Posted October 20 Update: I uploaded his old files back on the server and he had massive red "null reference exception object reference not set to an instance of an object" errors, then i told him to relog and see if it happens again but this time it was fine. Yeah there are optimizations to be done yet, but this game transmits quite a bit of data and is pretty reliant on data integrity, once you start getting consistent packet errors things can go wonky in the save files. The setting sets the MTU to about 1400 from the client/host, it's negotiated instantly and per the client, you can turn it on live too if you need (although I don't suggest this, it's worth going back to the main menu).
