RAT4 SERVER MANAGER and WEB API issues

Recommended Posts

So I installed the latest version of RAT 4 and have been on discord with the team that built the tool and they say it is a hosted server issue if I cannot get a connection.

The Hosted Server stated the following:

Unfortunately, the new webpanel released with the A21 build has some conflicts with IP binding that are preventing the service from operating properly. We have investigated the issue with the release of the A21 experimental build, but it appears the issue is still present with the Stable release. I'm afraid this isn't something we would be able to correct directly as it would require intervention from the developers.

The server company that sent this message is Gameservers.com if TFP would like to help them :)

Got this response today. I really wish you Smart IT Devs could work with hosts to find a workaround.

As I mentioned in your previous ticket, the core issue is that the server instance and webadmin instance experience issues binding to the assigned IP address. By default, the game will bind to the main IP on the machine, and it has been the same for the new webadmin feature. We have a workaround in place for the server itself, but it can't be applied to the webadmin function as well.
I can't say for sure what configuration other hosts are utilizing. However, if other hosts are only utilizing the main IP on the machine for their servers, by either having a server instance assigned its own VM or multiple servers sharing the same IP with different port ranges, they likely wouldn't be experiencing this issue. Th game developers likely aren't running into the issue for the same reason. However, this is not how we have our services configured.
As it stands now, the core issue is one of the process not binding to the proper declared IP address. This isn't something we can fix directly and would require attention from the developers. The old webadmin process functioned correctly, so there is an aspect of the new webadmin that is producing the issue. Other than the changes to the configuration, there weren't any other specified requirements for the new webdashboard to function properly.
