Error "object reference not set to an instance of an object" while joining a friend to the server

When i'm trying to join on the friend's server i have this error in console: "object reference not set to an instance of an object" And then loading stops on "loading character".

You'll need to provide a log and should probably ask in the General Support forum (a mod will probably move this there for you).  Without a log, that error could be caused by many different things, so no one can really help you with it right now.

My buddy is also intermittently getting this error.    I hope it gets fixed soon.
