IndexOutOfRangeException & NullReferenceException

Hello,

 

After today's update (5/18/2023) I was unable to join my usual server. It gave me the error logs upon the creating player portion of the server login. I followed a few other posts suggestions and ran a clean from the launcher and had the server admin delete my player profile from the server. I also verified game files and completely uninstalled and reinstalled the game.

 

Logs from initial log in and attempt to join game prior to me attempting any troubleshooting:

Now not only can I not join the server but I also can't create a player from the options menu getting the following error:

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need any additional information.

It is definitely a profile error.  I'd suggest going into your Saves folder and delete (you can also just rename it if you want to keep it as a backup) the profiles.sdf file.  Then try creating a new profile from the main menu and see if that works.  You may still need to have them delete your profile from the server again as it may have saved your corrupted profile on the server when you tried connecting after they deleted it.

You've hit the weird bug, use the game launcher from the main game folder (7dlauncher.exe), go to Tools, Open settings, and delete that registry folder (look on the left, you'll see 7 Days To Die, just right click and delete that folder. Then make a new character profile.

Glad it helped, sorry about that, it's a very strange/rare bug that can happen; hopefully with a new system it shouldn't be an issue anymore.
