But did you delete your profile from the server after removing it?  Any corruption will still be there even if you removed the heart.  I'd at least try it.  ASCII characters are notorious for causing problems in software that isn't specifically designed to handle them.  Beyond that, verify you don't have any mods in your mods folder that are different from what those who have no problems connecting have in their mods folder.  In the end, it will be something specific to you based on the fact others connect to it fine.  So you'll need to test anything that could be different between you and them.
