sorry i dont know how, but I worry the hit this will have on your machine.  dont trees have the ability to really hit the framerate?

Haven't tried anything yet, but the biomes.xml file would be the first thing I would look into.  Trees are considered decorations in that file.

Yes, I figured it out already, thank you, yes, you're right, this file was found by the poke method.

You might try a search for a mod about vegetation, i think i remember seeing one that reduced it.  But if you look under the hood of that mod, you can probably see instead how to increase it rather than reduce...

Another method might be to reduce the "BigDecorationRadius" property. I believe that will allow trees to be placed closer to each other, resulting in a denser forest. I haven't tried it myself, but it's worth a shot.
