Player can't log on to server

I have a server. A new player can't log on. It's strange. It doesn't announce that he's joined the server, but he shows up in my list of player/allies and it tells us when he leaves (or is exited) the game. We've done multiple searches and he's tried all the recommended tips, (verify files, player profile, etc) with the same results.

Yesterdays server log was way too big. I captured his attempt to log on today with no one else on the server.

Where do we look next? If you need his log, I'll try to get him to post it.

 

Edit: It let me send him a Party request. It listed his player ID on command console. I tried to teleport him to me but it failed.

Edit2: I should add, on his end, it stops on character creation with a Null Reference to a block texture. When he closes the error, he remains on the character screen. There are no more entries under F1. We have no mods installed. He's using fresh installs and default characters.

I 'think' it looks like his player profile is corrupted, but it would really help to see his entire log of his attempt to join the server. Please use pastebin.com, paste a copy of the log there and post the link created here. If it is his profile, you as the server owner, would need to delete the 3 files associated with his player profile. Then when he enters again, he'll be at Level 1 with no experience. You will need to use the giveselfxp command and creative menu to get his xp and items back.

TY Star69 - when you say his entire log of his attempt to join server, do you mean the player log or server log?

 

I wondered if I had any files on the server side. He's never been on this server before his attempt to sign on.  Where, generally, are player profiles kept on the server side? Are they in the files I access with FTP? I haven't looked there. If I understand this correctly, his first sign on attempt probably had something corrupted in his player profile. The server stored the info and all subsequent attempts to sign on are blocked by the corrupted info.

@scm1893You got everything correct on the profile corruption....it can happen on the first attempt then until you delete those 3 files, he'll never be able to join. Who knows what caused the corruption, power surge on his end, internet blinking on/off, etc.

 

For your info as a server operator, if this were to happen to any players in the future, and I'd be shocked if it didn't, you can delete those player files on the fly without shutting the server down, I've done it many times with no issues. It's a slight pain to find the files because, as you noticed, you have to find the player's EOS number in the server log then go to the Saves folder and find the 3 files associated with that EOS number.

Sorry to have to necro this thread but I have a question. As Star69 predicted, it happened again. This time, I noticed there is also a .map file with the others. Does this also need to be deleted?

I ask because he's hung on a single "out of array" error and I have no idea what to look for. I thought this .map file might be the cause.

I've got him checking the log. If we can't work it out, one of us will be back. Is his .map file of any importance?

afaik, the .map file shows the parts of the map revealed by the player's travels. You could

copy it somewhere, then delete it from the player folder to see if it fixed the out of array error.

If it doesn't, then put it back.
