Screamer hordes are just annoying

In this case, a dozen campfires will do. Just let them burn for 10 minutes and then the first screamer should appear.

Yeah I have only ever seen a few screamers in vanilla but I don't do that much mining and never use augurs. I know some players only use candles and mostly spend night in the dark because they're afraid of screamers but I've lined my bases with torches and only ever had one screamer at my base. The fact that 100% heat only rolls a die to see if a screamer will spawn means your odds of ever seeing a screamer in normal gameplay are pretty low unless you go absolutely berserk with a machine gun or apparently spam the augur at iron/lead.
