Missing quests from day 1

Hi all. My friends and I decided to give the game a try after seeing it on the xbox pc game pass. We bought a server on gportal.

We ran into an issue where our third friend who joined the server does not receive any day 1 quests.
I hope we can fix this issue without resetting the world each time someone has this issue upon joining the server.

The game otherwise has been working fine just no day 1 quests for our friend.  Any advice, guides or tutorials linked is greatly appreciated.

Issues:
- No day 1 quests
- Unsure how to give ourselves admin permissions in-game as all the guides/instructions for the admin privilege's explain steam ID. We are all on the pc game pass version of the game.

What we've tried:
- Restarting the server
- New character.
- Console  commands following a thread on steam Link to thread. However, now we've ran into the issue of unsure how to give admin permissions.

From the creative menu look for "Basic Survival Quest Note". Grab one and give it to the player missing the opening

quests. When they read it they will have the day 1 quests.

How does one get into creative menu? Does this require admin permissions in game?, If so we do not know how to give admin permissions to ourselves in game because the guides explaining how to use steam ID. We are not steam players we are windows xbox pc game pass players.

We are playing on a rented server so not from the in game server set up options.

Press F1

Type debugmenu and hit enter

Type creativemenu and hit enter

Click the lightbulb icon at the top to open the creative menu and search for the note.  To turn those off after done, type the commands again.

That's how to do it if allowed.  I am unsure what permissions you may or may not have with using those commands.

Ask the entity you are renting from to make you an admin. Then you can press "F1" and type "cm" to open the creative menu.

I got help in the 7 days discord and they explained to me how to do the permissions file exactly. The host does not give people admin, they have a guide on how to do it just does not cover people who play on the game pass as mentioned in my post.

Yeah that only works if we have admin permissions. Which someone on the 7 days to die discord helped me figure out how to do exactly and the syntax required in the serveradmin.xml file.

Took time, but finally all figured out. I followed these steps after Jugginator in the 7 days discord helped me with what information I needed for those who play on game pass.
Huge thank you to them for helping me!

The admin xml file by default only explains steam ID and most guides online only show steam ID and epic game store ID.
For game pass, you need the EOS ID and playername.

For anyone else who needs this information:

How to give admin access to a player that plays on game pass
- Turn off server
- installed the ServerTools mod through my hosts dashboard
-  Restart server
- installed FTP Filezilla & logged into that using my server hosts FTP login
- ServerTools mod folder - >  Find servertools config ,download, find the file on your PC or open in notepad or use sumblime text if your PC is set up to do so.
- I went through the config and turned on everything to "True" that is a logger, so block logger, chat logger etc.
- Turn on server and join.
- Go back to FTP or wherever your server files are, find playerlog in the ServerTools folder. Open it. Then you will find player information. At the top theres the EOS id.
- Copy the EOS string without the EOS_ infront and the players name both will be in the player log.
- Open the file serveradmin.xml in your file editor, scroll down to the section labeled "<admins>"
-  Fill then copy & paste this into the serveradmin.xml file under the admins section.  I copy pasted mine at the top above the example text already in the file. Make sure its also all lined up the same as the example text within the file.  Save the file to your server in the same folder it was in.
-  Restart/Turn server back on and press F1 to open the console menu.

<user platform="EOS" userid="EOS STRING WITHOUT EOS_" name="IN_GAME_NAME" permission_level="0" />

Example:
It should look like this

<user platform="EOS" userid="000228633516458f8b28b23cf805946f" name="Jugginator" permission_level="0" />  <admins>
<!-- <user steamID="76561198021925107" name="Hint on who this user is" permission_level="0" /> -->
