Compo-Pack for Random Gen

Pretty sure they have to be on The client side as well. Hopefully the game gets to that time when we dont need to.

 

There was a time when it did download the prefabs from the server. Having to have the clients install them is going to be a showstopper on my side. Have a few regular players that won't go through the process, so no go.

They technically never downloaded from the server, it was that the chunk data that DID download has the block information from the prefab. Now that tfp stores some of that block information locally, it requires a local install.

 

Nothing to be done about it.

 

...although I will say that I'm of the personal opinion that if someone can install something locally on their machine they should probably not have a machine. :)

I have done some adds, fixes and changes to the COMPOPACK

Hello ... Thanks for the pack … I've installed it and am on Day 6.

 

In a previous randomgen map I got a few hours exposure to the new POIs that came with Alpha 18 vanilla … and was enjoying them.

 

Does your pack replace all of the vanilla POIs with the prefabs made by your crew?

… or does it mix in with the ones that come stock with Alpha 18? … I can't tell.

I found a typo in the CP-rwgmixer.xml

 

xcostum_DriveIn(by_DuffyDuck) should be xcostum_DriveIn(by_NAGG_Genosis)

 

This prefab will not appear - it gives a RedMsg in Console when generating world.

 

Its a small Issue and will be fixed in the next update

No need to make a hotfix-Release because of this.

 

CP will also work well without that single POI missing

 

 

btw:

The next COMPOPACK will also support Nitrogen-maps officially

Iam about to write and finetune the prefabslist atm

There are also two more custom town options in NitroGen v0.450

 

custom_town_size_25

custom_town_size_18

 

and the ability to import the facing value correctly be setting

FORCE_POI_FACE_SOUTH = 0

in the config.txt

 

(for testing the POI facing, until I fix my prefablist)

 

Just tell me if there is a need for another special zone definition.

I have tried a new map yesterday, but still saw misrotated POI's, but havent noticed the FORCE_POI_FACE_SOUTH command in the config.txt

(me stupid!). Also havent noticed the new customzones, because I just copy/pasted my own prefabslist into resources LOL

 

so thx for the headsup

 

So I have to set FORCE_POI_FACE_SOUTH = 0 and will test it right now

I will give feedback soon
