Lord Morphleyes
I run a dedicated server running A20 and I want to update it to the newest experimental while still maintaing our progress. I am sure this has been asked but I can't find it, so please direct me towards some instructions. If left to my own choices I am thinking I should take and copy the folder: user/(myusername)/AppData/Roaming/7daystodie Then delete the folder: Games/steam/steamapps/common/7days to die dedicated server. Then go to steam and download the dedicated server for the new a20 experimental and replace the new ....roaming/7daystodie with the old one. That will work, right? Beelzybub
Your serverconfig.xml is important to save so you get the settings to match. I would just back up the appdata save folder and serverconfig.xml, then update through steam. Also check any mods you are using to get A20.1 versions if available. Glucoz
HI @Lord Morphleyes, I'm in the same boat as you. Did you manage to find instructions on how to upgrade your server to a20.1 while maintaing progress? I tried yesterday with SteamCMD appupdate command and it didn't work (and my game was reset to day 1)
Lord Morphleyes
I made copies like I mentioned and also the config xml as well. After that I just went to steam then tools, to get to my server and properties and the update I wanted. Then did the same for my game and on each of my famines computers. It worked well all progress maintained and I did not need the back up saves I made. @GlucozAre you going from A19 to A20.1 or the older A20 to A20.1?
