Sarakatunga
Hello community, I have some doubts with this processor and the dedicated server with the 16 threads. Is it better to disable the 16 threads that this processor brings to get the best performance from the dedicated server?
Fox
Uhh... why would you disable cores? Besides, unless you're trying to push past the supported max player count beyond unreasonable, that CPU should be more than overkill for running a dedicated server. Sarakatunga
The cores not the threads, this processor has 8 cores and 16 threads but I read that for some old games it is better to disable the smt mode that would be the threads and leave it only 8 cores to avoid lag. It is for 32 players and this is a dedicated server. It works fine but it should work better. Maybe 32 players is too much for this game. Most older games don't support multiple cores or multithreading. 7 Days does. Yes 32 players is too much. Only 8 are supported. In testing 20 is the most you can run stable on the majority of hardware. I was able to get 30 to run stable, but I had a dedicated EYPC server designed to run an industrial AI to do it.
