there is no use changing the operating system. with this problem I have. what they use is a saturation of the download bandwidth of my internet "I have a cacero server" with 300 mbps download and 30 mbps upload, I understand that it is little upload but this medium only lags the download and no matter what firewall you use or router xq there are too many fake packets to my IP address that it has to reject. X what I read the only solution is to ask the service to increase the speed but the truth is I don't have much money for that and not even to pay for a dedicated host. The question I want to ask you, is there a possibility that the server is public but does not say the IP or the port? Or do I have to die in a proxy, vpn, vps? and the truth is also expensive.

ps: I understand that it is not so effective that the server does not say the IP because there are programs that say it but at least it would make it a little more difficult to discover the IP.

Sounds like you're talking about DDoS prevention. That's something you can request from your provider. If you're running Linux and have good network hardware you can do quite a bit to mitigate it by simply ignoring/dropping the fake packets, though you can still run into the issue of them flooding your network pipe.

No you cannot hide your IP as it is required to connect to the server, and adding any extra layers like proxies and VPN will be a detriment to your players ability to connect to the server.

Exactly, I previously spoke with my provider and they cannot do anything since my connection is residential. My router's firewall has anti ddos and much more works fine in not responding to these bogus packets. But as you say it floods my download bandwidth, it can still flood it for 5 min with a free account. The only hope is that the one who bothers gets tired and reflects or when I have a little money I will call my provider and put 1000 mbps to test if it works because another solution does not exist. I do not want to give so much information about that service because it is very harmful for low connection servers like mine. you understand me.
Thank you very much for answering greetings from Argentina.
