Caelen Tigris
Can you please add offline LAN multiplayer? My internet went out last night and I tried to play with my fiancé only to find that the join game button was greyed out. This would also help those who don't have regular internet access, which is actually still a thing in the US.
Liesel Weppen
I guess they won't do, because it would allow for illegal copies. But yeah, i'd also prefer LAN-games working completely offline.
Caelen Tigris
I don't see how it would allow illegal copies. Steam still requires a valid license to install the game to begin with.

Steam still requires a valid license to install the game to begin with. It requires a license to install the game, but you can run a game in offline mode. You can also run multiple instances of one license if each client is in offline mode, if the game doesn't check it by connecting to some steam instance. And afaik, since 7d2d doesn't check it in singleplayer, you can play in parallel with just one license in parallel... but because of that not multiplayer. Caelen Tigris
Then the offline LAN could just compare the license keys to make sure they're different when you connect. Easy fix. It may not be able to validate them, but it will at least ensure there aren't any duplicates from the same steam account. Steam does store the license keys locally. That said, people who want to pirate the game will do so anyway. They have already done so. One of the most common reasons I've seen on other forums for pirating or cracking the game is the lack of offline LAN support. Adding it as an official option would prevent that. You don't need to convince me, i'm the same opinion. But that doesn't mean that TFP sees it that way. BTW: I started with a cracked version and bought it soon afterwards Without the cracked version, i'd probably not even would have noticed the existence of the game. Ironically on a LAN-Party with only limited internet connection And also couldn't play it on a really huge LAN-Party (150ppl), although there were people interested into, but there was absolutely no internet connection. Caelen Tigris
Well, that's why I'm hoping for this as an official option. Not just because the occasional storm knocks out my internet and then I can't play it with my fiancé despite us both owning the game and sitting 3 feet apart. It provides a needed feature that many people would use, assuming my google searches on the topic are anything to go by. It would also prevent piracy. That's wins all around for everyone. So, dear devs, please add offline LAN support. It would be nothing but an improvement to the game, and it may even increase revenue. 🤑
7daystowin
Please, please add LAN for people who own the game legitimately! This seems like an oversight from the devs. I have been wanting to play LAN at my place when the internet connection goes down. There is already steam verification happening, so adding LAN is totally doable without leading to piracy. I would agree with the above post that this lack of LAN support on the genuine version of the game probably does lead some to piracy for the LAN functionality.
