This game is dope !

Recommended Posts

Last night i had a blood moon in game , i was in a fairly new game 28 days in .

I've amped up the difficulty to survivalist because for some reason i always find ways to trick the AI but it looks very silly , so i decided not to do silly stuff this time.

I had a small base , made out of iron bars and an iron door , i usually fortify alot the door because zombies usually love my doors.

This time though 1 zombie everytime was doing its own thing , he went for a random iron bar and once he had it a little bit damaged the whole horde went there , and this time there was no ending to it .

From 22:00pm to 4:00am none stop they kept coming , 4:30am and i was still fighting with the remaining ones .

After the show was over i looked at my destroyed base. . . . . . . my ammunition was gone , half of my medicine was gone , i have no money , but i had a smile in my face !

What a blast !!!! And i have only 7 hours to figure out what i'm going to do next week.

It's really easy to avoid blood moons with alot of ways , i would love to see zombies that can climb tall structures and more flying ones or even at later stages of the game zombies that can come from underneath .

The Pimps definitely need to add a "Forever Blood Moon" mode to the game.  Where once the first blood moon starts, it never stops.  Ever.

... and if you close the game zombies will still fight whatever you have built until there will not be a stone upon stone.

Sounds like a mod. Make it always night time by adding a 0 day light length option, horde every night and then apply my endless horde modlet.

In theory that'll work.

I would like some mechanic like this, even if not an on/off switch in the game. Like maybe a “horde night time multiplier” that adds to the time (so they keep coming during the next day) and that keeps increasing every horde night until it’s 24x7.  Or maybe something like Gnamod  horde mode has (or teleics thumper) where you can assemble a beacon and call them to it, and it doesn’t end until the beacon is destroyed or some condition met. Maybe beacon “power” can be crafted so the player can choose the horde difficulty.

if an on/off switch at game start, it would be nice to set the “final day” this starts, like “after day 71, make it endless horde nights”.  Then you can kinda set a cap on how many hours you want too play, and that’s end of game when you die after this starts?

I had asked at one point that they also add "days to first zombie spawn" and "days to first blood moon" options to the game as well.  That way you could simulate having a pre-apocalypse time frame as well as a longer delay to having the first blood moon than your normal blood moon cycle setting.

@madmole

this has evolved into a most interesting thread

how often have we built our game up to the point where we think we have either beaten the game or we are bored.

imagine an OPTIONAL switch that says 'bring it on'

flick that and trigger a non stop horde until we is ded.

penalty on death is world deletion

that is a super cool way to end a play thru.

I've been interested in your hardcore mode lately , you've done a good job it seems .

I'm trying to make the game harder to a point that certain ''Exploits'' lets say won't be enough for you to survive.

I have an idea though , if you kill all the zombies that a blood moon spawns then you get a reward that is essential to continue playing , this way you must survive AND kill the horde instead of trying to avoid it if you are not ready for it .

Are you referring to the never ending horde night modlet, or my 7 years to die survivor overhaul?

In my modlet, it's impossible to kill all 15,000 zombies before morning.
If people avoid the horde then they are missing out of lots of xp and loot drops since loot chance is increased during horde nights. May as well turn them off if they are going to avoid it.

If i remember correctly it's the survivor overhaul.

My goal is to make killing the horde something desirable , not for joy only but for profit , even if that is money or loot or some special currency that will give you access to some special goods at the trader . So the main picture i'm trying to draw is zombie kills=profit .

If they had a special zombie spawn as the last member of the horde that had special loot (and a chance for unique items or something like that)... people might just want to plan ways to kill the entire horde.
