Unfortunately, the game saves all of the time so whenever you suddenly crash there is a risk of corruption. There is a backup, but those are usually saved over the moment you try to launch the corrupted save corrupting them, too. Every so often, it's wise to copy and paste your saves to back them up.

I am afraid not. You can try to restore the .bak files, but they are likely corrupt too. Just remove the .bak part of the file (rename it)

A Blue screen usually indicates a hardware or driver problem.
