bigc90210
Hows about some brass knuckles in 7d2d? perhaps even spiked brass knuckles too? would give more uses for brass earlier on in the game :)
legolas141
until they differentiate melee weapons by abilities or perks, it is pointless to include anything except the sledge in your inventory. I don't even use the hunting knife book as a sledge is so much better. There is simply no reason to use another melee weapon once you have 3 ingots worth of iron and some sticks. It would be interesting to add more recipes for brass, but make it something worthwhile to craft. as it is, my first two items to make once I have a forge are a pick axe and sledge. Then I don't even worry about melee.
legolas141
While it would feel cool to smash zombies with knuckles I think it's unviable weapon of choice against zombies. You would have to get up and close, and basically use the same amount of force than bare fists, thus making skull busting physically nearly impossible. Serious facial deconstruction yeah, but nothing enough to kill one efficiently.
Depends on the design of the weapon. if you had a good solid lump of metal on your fist, busting in a decaying skull would be all to easy. but then compare that to a massive hunk of iron on the end of a pole (sledge) crushing their head and there is no contest in which weapon to use. weapons should have differentiating features such as attack speed and debuffs such as bleeding or stun. I prefer to use a spiked club because it attacks faster and I can actually kill a horde with it without having to drink all of my water.
