Guys and Gals, Welcome to the 2022! Wishing Happy and Healthy New Year to everyone!
I just made big change on mod structure. Also added some little QoL and fun extras.
Now this is not a modlet that includes everything, it is a compilation of 18 modlets.
Check below descriptions to learn what's included in them.
If anything doesn't suit your taste, just delete its folder from ~/Mods folder.
If you want what you deleted back, just open the archive and put it back into ~/Mods folder.

For the sake of simplicity old descriptions removed but changelogs preserved.
Therefore you have to try all these special things yourself to see what's so special about them if you are new here and didn't have chance to try earlier.

Major changes
Fixed names and added description texts to all. PM me if you are interested translating into your language.
Made special items and invulnerable blocks craftable only on special forge and special workbench
Adjusted ranges, zoom levels, spreads and kicks of all weapons

Minor changes
Added special painkiller to bring "removeallnegativebuffs" buff back
Changed special stone axe into less powerful tool but, now it is possible to craft without workbench
Added special claw hammer to fill the void of old special stone axe
Added special javelin, it is possible to craft without workbench but, it is way cheaper and faster with workbench

Note: Crafting special stone axe, special javelin and special fireaxe without workbench can seem overpowered to experienced players but, it is not completely right. I tested them to not make them dominate the game in day 1, yes of course they are not your ordinary useless stone items, of course they are special however they still can't save your day solely against a horde night. They are just Quality of Life tools, especially when starting a new game. Also many newcoming players find 7DTD challenging to play and drop playing, I believe these tools can make some players actually start enjoying the game and keep playing.

Sounds like some cool stuff.  I especially like the craftable trader.

 

However, it's generally not a good idea to have so many different ingredients for a single recipe, as the vanilla crafting menu can only display five different ingredients.  Therefore, players are going to be confused when they have all of the ingredients shown and still can't craft the item because they don't have the ingredients that can't be displayed, and have no idea what additional ingredients are required.  If you want to make the recipe expensive, it's better to raise the quantity of each ingredient.

Thank you @CrypticGirl, I didn't pay attention to this detail while creating the recipe 😕 to be honest I'm a bit weak at crafting side myself.. Thanks to you now I know I have to change this in the next release.

I love all these extra blocks, but it would be nice to have a version that didnt make them invulnerable. Any chance of adding that? I like having heaps of building options, but I prefer the Zs to be able to destroy my base if I'm not careful!

Frankly these blocks are not really extra but they are special clones of carefully selected blocks from Stainless Steel and Bulletproof Glass blocks.

 

Stainless Steel: Devs decided to throw out them but actually they are still exist in game.

Bulletproof Glass: They are in base game and you can directly craft with forge.

So, Bulletproof Glass is out of the scope of your question since you can craft already and you have two options for the Stainless Steel blocks;

 

1. When you upgrade an invulnerable block it is turning into the vulnerable origin block. So, you can simply use this method to make vulnerable blocks anywhere you want. This will be faster than below method.

 

2. There is a mod called Stainless Steel Again which brings back Stainless Steel into the its old upgrade path. This can take more time because you need to craft lowest level block of the chain and upgrade it up to the Stainless Steel block (also you need to craft Steel Polish for last step).

your suggestion works fine, but not for multiplayer. I dont necessarily want my players running around with the capability to make their blocks invulnerable/build invulnerable bases

If this is the case you can prevent other players crafting them, yet you can still continue doing it.

 

Here a quote from myself, originally I shared this somewhere else;

If you are server admin and don't want other players to craft invulnerable blocks or special items there is a way to prevent that. It requires a little modification on a modlet file (xml) but it is not that hard, I tried to explain everything but I can help further if needed.

First locate this modlet's installation folder, it will be in your Steam game installation directory;


...\Steam\steamapps\common\7 Days To Die\Mods\special_things_by_hsngrms\Config\

You need to edit recipes.xml file.

Delete only mentioned lines, nothing more nothing less.

Then find these lines at top of text and delete.

That's all.

Note: This modification doesn't cover crafting of special beer. It is not something invulnerable, so I see no harm if others craft and use it.

Anyway, after above change you can continue crafting blocks and items as long as you have forgedInvulnerableGlass and forgedInvulnerableSteel in your inventroy.

If you don't have those resources, as an admin you can easily retrieve from Creative menu.


How to use Creative Menu

1. Press F1 and write "cm" in console, creative menu will be on

2. Press U, find items you need and add your inventory

3. Press F1 write "cm" in console, creative mode will be off

Note: F1 and U are default shortcuts, if you changed them look your keymap / settings.

General notes about creative menu:
Using creative menu does NOT require cheat mode. Only requirement is having admin privileges.
If you activate cheat mode, other players CAN use creative menu too.
While creative menu is active you cannot earn new achievements (nothing happens to existing).
So, do not skip 3rd step and close it as soon as you are done with it.

Thank you, this will do perfectly I think. I can always CM the blocks themselves in, then make them vulnerable myself. Is it possible to hold the vulnerable version of the blocks in your inventory? I could just set up a player vending machine with these special blocks in (the non-invulnerable kind) and the players can access them that way as a sort of end-game deco money sink.

Unfortunately you can't take back these blocks to your inventory but good news I just realized actually there is easier way to achieve what you want, I don't know why I didn't think that before.

 

Open blocks.xml and delete all lines about "downgrade", e.g.;

	<property name="DowngradeBlock" value="THIS_NAME_DOESNT_MATTER_DELETE_ALL_LINE"/>

This way it will prevent blocks downgrading to themselves again, which will make them literally vulnerable again.

 

So, no need to edit recipes.xml but you can still do that too if you don't want others to craft blocks with 50k hitpoints. (Original Stainless Steel blocks only has 10k hitpoints.)

 

To make things more clear I'm sharing all related lines (total number of lines to be deleted: 25) use search function, find them and delete them and save your file, kaboom everything is vulnerable now.

Hello, thank you for your interest in mod. First upgrade those blocks you want to destroy. Upgrading invulnerable blocks will make them destructible. To upgrade, right click on the block and wait it to be %100 percent, then you can destroy ;)

6.0.0 is here, added to first post.

 

Why updating again so early?

Special forge and workbench caused a bug in 5.0.0 because xui file was missing. It was blocking other xui windows therefore it was impossible to interact with anything after interacting them, this was until you quit from game and re-enter (so it wasn't a game breaking bug, but still urgent). Sorry for inconveniences caused if any, please just update to 6.0.0 as quickly as you can. After updating modlet, no need to do anything else, existing stations will work without any problems.

New content is here; added special bike, it quickly became my 2nd favorite item in the mod after special beer. Turret is meh, probably least favorite item in mod, still I'm happy with it because I didn't want it to do all the killing job by itself, so it barely hits enemies as intended :D

IDK, my turret has killed a lot of zombies for me sitting in front of my door of my base. It may be that i'm just perked into turrets so it's working better than intended. I do like the bike though, and the beer. Special Jen is also awesome, seems like a full trader instead of one locked into a specialty. 

Been trying to figure out how to achieve the same effect without the yellow console warnings about the invulnerable blocks being over their downgrade limits. If you have any thoughts I'd love your assistance if you have the time. 

I hope your move went well and your new job is treating you kindly.

About your question, I know it's late to answer you but it might help others too.

 

Those yellow console warnings are normal, because invulnerable blocks works like when you destroy one of them it downgrades to itself, it is like reincarnation. The thing is game thinks it is not intended and caused by an error, so it warns us, since we do that intentionally you should just ignore the warnings.

 

There is no other way as functional as this way. You can use bedrock as material which is not requiring downgrade to itself, however removing bedrock is not possible. In fact the initial version of the mod I created only for myself was working like that and I changed into current mechanism because of aforementioned reason.

 

About Jen, you're right, I made her even more than full trader, original Jen is just specialist on meds.

 

To be honest, Beer is my favorite part of the mod. I can't imagine myself playing without it haha. :)

So you don't want others to use special things, especially those doesn't require forgedInvulnerableGlass and forgedInvulnerableSteel, right?

 

You can simply edit recipes.xml and add forgedInvulnerableGlass and forgedInvulnerableSteel into the recipes those don't have them. After that you have to remove first two entries. By removing first two entries, no one will be able to craft special items including you, unless you stock some forgedInvulnerableGlass and forgedInvulnerableSteel before removal.

This mod become bigger than I expected when I first created it (actually not so big, only big for me, comparing to what it was at v0.1.0). So, I have no intention to add anything new but your voice can change that!

Hi H,

 

There appears to be an issue with the special forge.

Its not recognising i have any materials in my inventory so isnt letting me craft.

 

The standard forge is also now not functioning.

The special workbench is fine and recognising i have stuff on me.

 

 

Nevermind - that was my fault. Tried playing round with the values in the files and i broke it.

downloaded the mod again and all is well.

Hey, I was about to upload new version. After seeing your message first I would like to download Undead Legacy and check what can I do for the issue.

 

Wow that mode is huge, 1.9 GB... Hope I can find what's causing the issue.. :)

OK looks like this mod and Undead Legacy are not compatible due to edits done to storage by Undead Legacy.

Since it is a huge mod, I don't have neither time nor will to find a workaround to get fully functioning compatibility with Undead Legacy.

So, I just created a optional lightweight edition with no storage.

It is compatible with Undead Legacy but, best features got rid from the mod.

Those are: special trader, special bicycle, special forge, special workbench and even the latest addition invulnerable storage box.

I only did that in case you or someone wants to create an invulnerable base when playing on Undead Legacy server, however with items got rid the base  will be missing something.
 

Anyway 7.3.0 is ready.

Disclaimer: Do not update to lightweight/nostorage edition midgame if you already built many things with invulnerable blocks etc. It will make all special and invulnerable items gone. Please start a new game to use lightweight/nostorage edition.

Hi,i like this mode and use on my server 👍 but i what to see more inside like asalt riffle,pump shootgun,auto shotgun,axe male,spear,crosbow,club,steel club,rocket launcer and inpact driver.Thx and you do very nice joob ❤
