Radeon 5700XT bug on Linux

I've got pretty much the exact same bug as this thread. At the end of the thread, people advice to update to the latest drivers. The thing is, I use Linux (Manjaro). I have already downloaded the latest kernel that is not experimental (5.8.3-2) and still have these issues. Does anyone know how long it would take for the update to come around to Linux/what I could do?

Thanks in advance,

That thread mentions many bugs. Which ones do you have? Speckling on ground textures? White triangles? Screen Tearing? Artifacts? Game crash?

I'm pretty sure all of those have been fixed.

What driver are you running that needs an update? You can manually update the drivers.

Post a log as instructed in the sticky that says to read it before posting. Better yet, If you think it's a bug, post a bug report.

As for which bugs I have, depending on the graphics setting I have got either the speckling ground textures, Colored triangles, Monochrome esque textures or complete blackness with some grainy lines.

As for what driver needs updating, I am running the newest non-experimental kernel and as far as I know you can't (easely) manually update the drivers as they are included in the kernel.

The reason I didn't post a new report is because this isn't a new bug, it just isn't "fixed" yet on Linux (either by a driver update or the developers)

It's the poor support of OpenGL in Unity games for Linux in general. Not much devs can do about. In Windows you would have much different experience since Windows is using DirectX instead of OpenGL, but Linux cannot use DirectX because DirectX is only for Windows. For now, your best bet is either use Windows or if you must use Linux, at least try to run the Windows version of the game with Wine.

The only current Linux/Radeon bug I can find is for weird colors with reflections, which is fixed by turning reflections off.

The "speckling" issues you cited were fixed in 18.4, and was only reported in Windows. Prior to the fix it was worked

around by players using glcore instead of direct x.

Linux uses glcore by default so shouldn't have the problem.

Again, I think a proper bug report would be helpful. Or at least pics/vids showing the issue along with an output log.

There are two drivers available for the 5700xt; The built in mesa drivers, and the AMDGPU Pro driver, from AMD.

You're right, it's a pain to update or change drivers, but it may help to at least know what you are running.

Ubuntu installs the AMDGPU PRO drivers, but I don't know if Manjaro does.
