I think we are about ready for a stable release.

The show-stoppers are fixed from what I notice.
A few look-pretty bugs here and there, some optimizations could still happen but
All-in-all I think the crashes and show stoppers have been handled.

Stable coming next week perhaps? :D

I wana move to a long-term file for a bit. :p

This is probably the best joke I have ever heard. The game is severely unoptimized, eats RAM like Chrome, has clunky progression (the new "fixed" one), has lots of promised but never delivered content. My game keeps crashing right after loading (which takes damn too long) finishes since b176. This game is not even suitable for a beta.

OTOH, I have played ~600 hours and I do not think I was scammed. I just think devs are a little bit lost about what they promised earlier 🙂

They are talking about A19.1 STABLE, not release.

Apart from that the client is very stable all in all. If you get crashes that often is because of driver issues or even hardware issues.

Hopefully the next patch gets rid of the arrows scattered around the dead zeds and I'm sure it will. Also had the problem yesterday where your view just starts tilting all the way over to the side. That's only happened to me once so far. I exited out of the game and restarted my save and it never happened again.

I used to get the crashing when I entered into the game, but I noticed that it was always after I had played a little while and exited out of the game but left the client up at the starting menu. Now after I've played a while and stop to take a break I exit completely out of the game (Don't leave the client up and running). Close it off completely back out to Steam. Now I never get those crashes anymore. Might not be the same culprit causing it now but that has really helped me.

Get rid of the stuff in the first paragraph and I think it's ready for stable.

They need to fix the terrain glitch, too.

Curious if we have the same in mind. What bothers me is a terrain wall showing up in front of you when you walk or drive thru a tunnel. It moves with you along.  Feels very pronounced in A19.

That's one that bothers me; but, I was specifically referring to the issue where, if you dig up a block in the forest biome and replace it with snow, it still shows as forest; desert sand is ALWAYS sand, etc.

Stable simply means that the game seems to runs without crashing for most users. It doesn’t mean it’s perfect. Next week seems like a good bet for it to happen. Another good bet is that when it does happen we will get plenty of “You call THIS stable?!?!” posts.

You’re quite the hipster in that regard. :)

Bring on the stable version so I can start adding mods to make it playable.

There are plenty if mods. Even couple overhauls available. One was available a little over week after experimental dropped. Have had no issue with it, other is just recently released an experimental version, so it probably has some bugs.

ram usage is just way to high and rwg has never been this bad these need to be a priority

How is it bad, how long it takes? If so, why would it be a priority? It's a one time thing.

Usually takes me 15-20min. Know seen people say its quicker for them.

IMO not till they fix the horrible loot a19 has.

Well..it sound like they are only adding pipe weapons. I haven't read if they will be craft only. I hope so. Will people reason to perk into weapons for more than just dmg. I don't perk into guns till maybe midgame. First few hordes on vanilla are just to easy, and don't need them.

I personally don't have issue, and still loot everything I can.  Only thing I would see an issue for, would be if you played with no loot respawn.

I used to get crashes right after loading. Also used to get them when opening containers of my inventory. A new hard drive fixed it, mine was dying. Maybe yours is too?

I could be wrong, but I believe that is a "feature" from A17 or 18. I remember people complaining of digging up gravel or asphalt around a POI and replacing it with something else. Then it would magically revert to gravel. It was described as "working as intended".

So, not changing visually to the corresponding terrain is "working as intended" to them?

This started in A18.

Something something "splat map". I don't understand it, but that's how it's currently supposed to be like and not considered a glitch. And every builder going beyond just building a base effing hates it, including myself. I really hope there will be a better solution in the future that allows me to create a lush green oasis in the middle of the wasteland again :]

On OP:

I don't think it's ready for stable at least not in multiplayer as since a few updates of exp. we get full on server freezes for hours, especially during blood moons.

AFAIK it is a technical limitation and this is the least worst solution at the moment. Many limitations are because of the graphics engine (Unity) where they just have to accept or work around bugs or hard limits in the engine.

I would suggest asking about this again whenever they say they updated to a new version of Unity as a new version might lift the limitation or provide alternative ways.
