Game Corrupted?

I really love this game, but am very frustrated. AGAIN tonight, I was driving down a road back to town and it crashed. Not a huge deal as I have come to expect that from time to time. However, when I reload, my game is FUBAR. I can hear my bike engine running, but cannot see it or my character. I can open my backpack, but cannot do anything else. I cannot move, get off my bike, or even bring up the menu and have to "force quit". This is the 4th time this has happened to me since I started playing this game in October and am at a loss regarding what to do or how to possibly fix it. Anyone experience something similar or have any ideas?

I play on windows. No Mods. This problem has only ever occurred when I am playing alone.

It's lucky that you can play without having a GPU on your laptop. I mean no offense, but I would consider a GTX 660Ti scraping the bottom of the barrel for the current version, and your Intel HD 620 isn't even close to the same performance. It doesn't help that your CPU is only just barely above the minimum specification to play, without taking into account the under-clocking due to it being a laptop.

You've got a lot of bonus graphic options enabled that you should probably not have running. Shadows and reflections will put a load on a good GPU, and options like SSAO and sun shafts are pretty heavy as well. Turning off the in-game voice chat can help improve performance also.

As for the save, it's most likely toast. Most likely your system just ran out of available resources and crashed the client, which corrupted the data. Your client crashed due to a DirectX error which is common when you're running on incompatible GPU drivers, or your system simply cannot support the request.

I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but lowering your settings might help prevent the issue in the future.

Thank you for the info. I assumed I was pushing the minimum requirements in order to play this game as it takes much longer to load etc...than it does for my brother on his "top of the line" system. I will try adjusting the settings that you suggested as I am not ready to give up on playing such a fun game and am not prepared to upgrade to a better computer as of right now.
