warmos Posted December 24, 2014 Share Posted December 24, 2014 Hello, Ive made a 7 Days to die dedicated server recently on linux... Starting the server and everything works fine, but I am the only one, who cant connect. The server says "Denying player with duplicate name 'warmos'". How can i disable this ? warmos Posted December 25, 2014 Author Share Posted December 25, 2014 Okay, I solved it. Actually the problem is not in duplicate names. I dont know why the server was reporting it. The problem was in permissions in filesystem, where the server couldn't access the files like region etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The files and folders must be owned or writeable by the account running the engine. On my Linux server, the ID is "sdtd" and the group is also "sdtd" so to reset ownership on files I might have copied in the region folder or other files, I simply type the following command (assuming your path is /home/sdtd/instances/alpha13) chown --recursive sdtd:sdtd /home/sdtd/instances/alpha13 LHammonds Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
