Sandals
Hey guys, I run a dedicated server for me and a friend and ever since Alpha 18 the texture load in is crap, can't see any distance etc. Screenshots show what I'm talking about. Is this a known bug? Or is there a setting I have not changed/missed? https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/764984402027785641/6353BE19F6186875BBED676CB34958658B54CD4D/ https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/764984402027770202/569B9052CB7196E0947D8FD01B352A5D746E2013/ Edit: 18.3 server is a brand new install, doesn't seem to have helped
Boidster
What is your max draw distance in serverconfig.xml? The textures close up (e.g. the road in your second pic) appear pretty normal to me. The terrain seems pretty crappy - is this a fresh 18.3-generated world? (I know you said it's a fresh 18.3 install, just want to be clear that the world itself was not carried over.) ZombieSurvivor
I'm not understanding what the specific issue is....? I do see an issue with distant terrain but not textures..... You might want to report this in the bug section. Be sure and fill out the form and provide log file and any other relevent pics/vids etc. https://7daystodie.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?69-PC-Bug-Reports
SylenThunder
OP should read the Sticky Thread in the bug report forum section, and start a new thread with all the required information.

The terrain that appears to be completely vertical, is not actually there. You head towards it and it disappears in chunks... making it pretty much impossible to see anything in the distance. It's been doing this since Alpha 18. The first screenshot was from a server I ran for a while and the 2nd pic is from a brand new server install and fresh random world. Roland
Sounds like you have legacy code in your files. This is what happens when you don't do a complete wipe of old data. Sometimes even if you uninstall and reinstall there are some old files that do not get deleted. If this happened from the very start of A18 then it could mean there are bits of A17 still lurking. You should do a complete clean of your files and then verify them. Open the game launcher and click on the tools tab Select clean game files and check ALL the boxes. This will delete all saved games and all maps but it sounds like they are all corrupted anyway. Once this is done, right click on your game in your library and select properties. Choose the local files tab and select Verify game cache. You will need to redo all your settings and create new maps and all of your old saves will be gone but hopefully this will solve your issue. ZombieSurvivor
Here is a tutorial I wrote a long time ago just in case you need further help doing a clean uninstall and clean install. Roland pretty much covered it though. https://7daystodie.com/forums/showthread.php?96250-Instruction-for-a-clean-uninstall-and-fresh-install-of-7D2d-Windows10
